I am heading to Wrightsville Beach this weekend for a bachelor party and am looking for some restaurant and bar recommendations. Probably will try to eat at one nice place for dinner and then just looking for good, reasonably priced local spots for our other meals.

I was just there for a vacay. There's a bauce ass Mexican baja restaurant at Wrightsville called Tower 7, if you're into that sort of thing.

For the nice place if you don't mind driving into Wilmington, mehbe Catch 22. That's the restaurant run by a guy that used to be on top chef. Defs pretty solid.

I'm not a local though, so mehbe one of them can offer up more.

South Beach Grill
The Oceanic
Tower 7
Trolley Stop
Hit up Roberts Market if you like Chicken Salad

Stay the hell away from King Neptune and Dockside. Restaurants in decline there.

There are a ton of options in Wilmington which I'm less familiar with. I like the setting of Pilot House and Elijah's though. Hit those up for lunch on Sat or Sunday and walk to the Serpentarium when they feed the snakes. One of the craziest things I have ever seen.

For the nice place I have to recommend the Bridge Tender, on your right on Causeway Drive immediately before you enter onto the bridge/causeway going to Wrightsville Beach.

I've been there three or four times, and it is excellent, food and bar. Great beef and fish. Probably the fourth or fifth best restaurant I have ever been to in North Carolina. Everyone I recommend it to has thanked me for the suggestion.

Nah dude, fuck that place. Service was horrible/awful and food very average for the price. Took us 3.5 hours to get/finish a lunch there despite being one of the few groups in the place. Such a tourist trap.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have a terrible experience there. It was one of the worst restaurant meals I've ever had. Such dogshit.

There are a bunch of decent places just before the Causeway in a little shopping area north of the main road. Places like Osteria Cicchetti and the Bento Box have really good reviews.

For a nice place, I would go with the brasserie which is a really tasty French restaurant. I also agree with the tower 7 comments as they have great burritos. Another nice place is Sourh Beach grille. I recommend the grouper Linda and fried pickles.

I agree with the pervious posts about avoiding dockside for food, I do however recommend going there and hanging out on their patio and boat/people watch while playing some corn hole.

Be sure to hit up the beach bars as they should be hopping this weekend. Sitting on the shelf on the patio at Laggerheads is always a good time. Also go up the street to red dogs and have a $5 brown bagged 40oz beverage.

I forgot to mention be sure to eat breakfast at sweet and savory. They have a bunch of really good breakfast sandwiches.

Brasserie du soleil is good french food and decent bar area in Wilmington just before the bridge into wrightsville beach. It's spendy... Probably better for a date than bro night. Delicious food, though.

Dockside actually just built a larger upper patio that would be fun bar to hang out for afternoon/happy hour drinking. Also, see if you can find someone with a boat to take you out to either masonboro inlet or masons inlet to park on a sandbar and party. There will be thousands of people out the this week for the 4th.

Let Yelp be your friend. I'm going to concentrate on Wrightsville, because when I go I like to stay close to the beach.

I like 22 North, which is close to Roberts, because you can get good food and don't have to leave Wrightsville: http://www.yelp.com/biz/22-north-restaurant-wrightsville-beach

Jerry's used to be good as well, just over the drawbridge: http://www.yelp.com/biz/jerrys-food-wine-and-spirits-wilmington.

Brasserie du Soleil, good French restaurant that has other offerings: http://www.yelp.com/biz/brasserie-du-soleil-wilmington

Of course, Dockside for that soft shell sandwich for lunch: http://www.yelp.com/biz/dockside-restaurant-wilmington

Vito's Pizzeria used to be great, but they have changed it somehow and it's now just average.

Ellijah's is hit or miss, I'll prob never go back there.

I love the ghost tours in Wilmington.

i was looking at yelp earlier for brasserie; most of the negative reviews are about a waiter being a twat, not actually about the food. i get annoyed when people give a restaurant 1 star based completely on their service.

That's an epidemic on Yelp! The Yelpers that I know are HYPER critical about service. The place can be absolutely delicious but if their food takes too long or the waiter screws up, they slam the place.

I've had good experiences with Elijahs, but I hit up Pilot House more often. It's basically the same restaurant.

I used to love Saltworks as a kid for the glass bottle cokes. Haven't been in like 10 years though.

I've only been there once, and it was about a year ago, but Crow Hill downtown was amazing. The more recent reviews don't seem particularly positive, it looks like it might have fallen off at some point...but a year ago it was awesome!

all good recommendations. I'll add tower 7 for Mexican, Marc's on market for upscale, and boombalatis for ice cream.

Also, boca bay gets good reviews but I haven't been there.

South Beach Grill is awesome on Wrightsville.

If your group of dudes once to go into Wilmington, drink some brahs, and eat somewhere casual, Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants on earth.
