Please Krauthammer, don't hurt 'em.

As long as you can accept that Romney is not a good candidate. At best he is a proxy for the projections of a myriad of different conservative viewpoints.

He's not a terrible candidate either, though. He's successful guy with a lot of positive traits. He's exceptionally generous with his church and its missions.

Then again, if you took three day old dog food and re-heated it, it would probably be a better plan than four more years of "borrow, spend and hope for the best."

You make the assumption, wrongly IMO, that business success is preparation for and/or equivalent to success in Government Administration. You are also suggesting that his policies would be different than borrow, spend, and hope for the best. Bush's policies were borrow, spend, and hope for the best. Romney's signature Gubernatorial achievement is the health care reform that you hate.

Romney is the perfect canvas to project the frustration voters have with Obama, but it's naive to believe that he will be in any way different. I pointed out the lack of commentary on his ideology, because it's reflective of the entire campaign. Romney =/= Obama. Ok, but does he equal something better? Maybe, but not just because you hope or want him to. Remember, a big portion of the Obama campaign, that speaking as a liberal has failed to deliver, was Obama =/= Bush. In some ways that proved to be true. In regards to trampling civil rights in the name of national security, my biggest problem with the Bush administration, that has proven to be false.

If I bundled all of the naievete of Romney supporters, quintupled it, sextupled that, it wouldn't equal the square root of the naievete of the "Yes We Can!" crowd circa 2008.

Obama supporters telling conservatives they're being naieve. Got it, thanks.

that clip makes perfect sense and you losers think its some kind of smoking gun. that, is funny. you make yourselves look like morons

he used it as a retort to bkf's post. he was just joking. chill out.

both of these candidates are pretty terrible.

i can't wait for the first candidate who has libertarian social values and a fiscal conservative philosophy to break through the glass ceiling.

I'm hoping that is the future of the Republican Party once our generation takes over. An unabashed conservative who is open minded would win elections like its his/her job.

and a few liberal ones

which of Romney's positions are liberal? Below are some of his political positions. Imo, I would only view a couple of these as liberal positions, and they are all very minor.

1. increase military spending
2. supports a balanced budget amendment
3. wants to let tax credits for wind power expire
4. wants to reduce environmental regulations across the board
5. not certain what is causing climate change (at least he recognizes global warming though)
6. repeal dodd-frank
7. opposes ACA (obamacare) which was modeled after his own conservative system, but also likes healthcare of isreal. has no real plan except opposes what is in place
8. initially supported the stimulus, now opposes it and opposes any future stimulus
9. tax plan would cut taxes for rich, but raise them for middle class (don't think this what he intends, but since he hasn't really put one out, this is the result of the few talking points he has said on the subject)
10. wants to impose trade sanctions on china
11. wants to continue the cuban embargo, and claimed that obama has tried to appease cuba/castro
12. criticized withdrawal in iraq
13. much more willing to strike iran
14. is willing to keep troops in afghanistan past 2014
15. wants to keep guantanamo (actually wants to double it)
16. for the use of enhanced interrogation techniques (and won't label waterboarding as torture)
17. was for stem-cell research, now against
18. against abortion except rape/incest
19. not in favor of medical marijuana
20. for three-strikes sentencing laws
21. supports abstinence only sex-ed
22. opposes online gambling
23. opposes dream act
24. believes in evolution
25. against gay marriage, for gay adoption

/deletes all posts on ogboards, changes screenname, runs for SC state office (lapses, hits on nikki haley momentarily but realizes if something bad happens it will be uncovered).

Too many people know where the bodies are buried but great idea.

The "new" GOP can't happen until Citizen United is repealed. Until that time, the big money old guys will run your party.

Obama can be beaten on either economic performance or philosophy. Romney is just obviously the wrong messenger. What the hell do the 'Pubs think they are doing in nominating an unlikable guy, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, off-shoring like there is no tomorrow, evading taxes like Al Capone, lacking charisma, belonging to a weird sect, making gaffes around the world, and campaigning poorly.

You can't be serious. This guy is somewhere between Harold Stassen and Mike Dukakis in electability. Next!

He hasn't kicked a dog or punched a baby yet and he isn't Barack Obama.
