Holy moly, there's so much to love/hate about this quote:

"I don't want anybody to persecute any religion including Islam, but we have a duty as Americans to understand that they intend to take us over and compel us to become Islamic," Douglas says.

The First Amendment may provide the freedom to practice all religions, but, according to Douglas, the "government is showing a deference and is accommodating one single religion — Islam, Shariah," he says.

It appears that Tennessee is on the verge of becoming a theocracy. Watch out your state could be next. I really thought that Michigan would be the first to fall.

Great irony of all of this is that evangelicals used to be a marginalized group that fought effectively for their own religious freedoms to be protected. Not to mention the arguments to show deference to the religion of the founders who clearly found it pretty important to clarify that no deference should be paid to any religion lest others have their freedoms infringed upon.

Well, our president is a Muslim socialist, so I guess Mr. Douglas makes a certain amount of sense.

I don't want anybody to persecute any religion including Christianity, but we have a duty as Americans to understand that they intend to take us over and compel us to become Christian.

^Way more accurate.
