Let's Vote on God

I think the boos were most directed at the "two thirds" that voted in favor of the amendment - and I would bet that most were annoyed at the seemed bowing to public/media pressure to adjust the platform based on sound bytes and semantics first, then the statement about Jerusalem/Isreal, then returning the word "God" to the platform being the least of the concern.

I'll let you guys run with this for awhile before I point out the obvious...

God clings to his religion. Totally scoff-worthy in today's Dem party.

Of course it's not. It would have been if Romney wanted God and Jerusalem off the platform, but this is the Democratic party we are talking about. This is to be expected.

And Obama put it back in the platform. He stood up for what he believed. Romney ran like a little bitch from the far right when they wrote the platform.

It's an issue for you and your boy Hannity. And don't tell me you don't listen to him, it's too obvious. No one else cares.

How does is make you feel that at least half the delegates did not want Jerusalem on the platform. Seriously? I'll set aside the fact that the platform is Obama and he is on record as saying the capital of Israel should be determined in negotions over a two state settlement. But you know that already. On this, I am scratching my head over your loyalty to the left.

The thread on the quad started by koobs on this topic is better. When it comes to unintelligible inanity, that guy is like Lebron James.

I don't give a shite about what either party thinks about religion. I'm an atheist. And I don't care if either party platform agrees with me on that point. And Barack has a kooky preacher, and Mittens is a member of a kooky cult. But about the only thing you can't get elected as these days is as an atheist. We're behind the Euros when it comes to embracing atheism. But whatever. I'll vote for the party that is more closely associated with my views on issues that actually matter.

All I know is, God invented drones, corporations and jobs. Vote republican!

This is one of the board's greatest posts. We have more open gay people in Congress than atheists. Think about this. This is ridiculous. America is a complete Christian-complex society right now. The one thing that most people will coalesce behind is hatred of non Christians.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around this post. First, how many atheists are there in this country? Are they a voting block we should pander to? Second, who hates non Christians? Fat people in Mississippi? I don't think Democrats get it. Most people expected Obama with a democrat congress his first two years to turn things around like Clinton supposedly did. It didn't happen. Working people don't care about atheists. They care about job opportunity. Not employment. This is what is missing in the debate. What people really want is to get the hell out of their third shift job into something better and the opportunty just isn't there today.

As soon as we give the job creators some more tax cuts, they are going to start creating some jobs. Here. In this country. Really, they are. I know they didn't do it the last three times, but this time they're going to do it. So let's get on with those new tax cuts. (Suckas! They fell for it again!)

And your solution is to raise the marginal tax rate? Maybe back to 70%? Then we could relive your youthful days. I know you're a socialist, so this is a rhetorical question.

How does anyone think that people who can't tell the difference between 1/2 and 2/3 after several tries will be able to right the economy?

Jon Stewart killed it last night on this debacle. I highly recommend. Dems need to be able to laugh at themselves. This is hilarious. 3 tries that sound the exact same and then they just decide to pass it even though it was painfully obvious there was no clear majority?

As Jon Stewart said: "I think Republicans may have found there clear evidence of voter fraud".
