So last night we were watching the football game at a friend's house with a bunch of other people, all of whom are in their late-20s to mid-30s with kids ranging from newborn to about 5. Most of the dudes are out on the deck watching a TV that is set up outside while the women are in the house. One of the ladies (husband not present) comes outside to get a beer from the cooler, and after she goes back inside one of the dudes says "Man, she is the ultimate MILF".

At that point I object, because growing up a MILF was always the mom of somebody our age, in the true sense of Stifler's Mom or the step-mom of Bill S. Preston, Esquire. This chick has a kid who is 2. Even though she may have a kid, if I am the same general age as the woman in question, I wouldn't view her a a MILF, she is just a hot woman with a kid. So that launched a full debate on the applicability of the term. So I will ask the Pit, can you use the term MILF for any hot woman with a kid, or does the kid have to be same age as the admirer, such that guys age out of the using the MILF term unless they are talking about someone who is about 60?

The answer is that you stop using the term MILF once women your age start having kids (i.e. shortly after college).

when does cougar become applicable?

I guess I agree w/ the OP. i feel like before you are able to procreate yourself (or college-aged, let's say), MILF is the correct term for someone 35 or older with kids.
once you're old enough to have kids, they're just your peers (who may or may not have kids). if they're significantly older at this point, they're cougars.

?

Yeah MILF has to refer to someone older. Once you're older, generally just stop using the term to avoid confusion.

Cougar refers to both a mix of being older and their aggressiveness. Just banging someone older does not make them a cougar, they need to be on the prowl and not taking no for an answer.

the easiest way to avoid this is just calling them "babes." it works with any descriptor. observe:

-you see a hot chick with a wedding ring, "check out that married babe."
-you see a azn chick (for palam), "check out that asian babe."

etc.
etc.

it is understood as a dude that if a babe's a babe the "ilf" part is in play. the best part is when yous tart abreviating it and youre buds have to figure out what kind of babe you're observing. it's like "i spy," but with chicks you'd like to be inside.

Of course what you'd say is true Phan, but what do you think of bringing back "could catch it"

You see a hot chick with a wedding ring "Man that chick with the ring could catch it"
You see a azn chick "That asian chick could catch it"

It seemed popular a few years back, but it didn't have the staying power. I, for one, the phrase didn't get its due and should attempt a comeback.

it's ok. the best ever was when a coworker, who's kind of quiet and dorky, looks at me with this shit eating grin and says "she's naughty" after this sexy girl who works at our office goes by. i died.

Couldn't be any worse than your attempt to get "lubed up" into the vernacular.

Stop. Ask yourself these questions:

Q1: Does she have at least partial custody of one of her own biological children?

A1: No ------> Not a MILF

A1: Yes ------> Proceed to Question 2

Q2: Do you want to fuck her?

A1: No ------> Not a MILF

A2: Yes ------> MILF

And btw, I'm not sure that it's cool of your friend to call his buddy's wife a MILF, regardless of age.

I would just defer to the porn industry on this question.

But I think lbE is about right that 35 with kids is about right. I'd say cougar is at about 40.

hp's wife is a milf.

Good luck competing with these moves.
