2018-2019 NHL Thread – Thunderstorm Warning

Nine games in and the Pens are getting suspect goaltending at best.

Murray is 5-0-1 but has a 3.35 GA with a save percentage of .896. Yuck
Annti Niemi is 0-3 with 7.49 GA and a save percentage of .797. That's just awful.

Niemi does not appear to be the answer for a number 2, and Murray needs to up his performance now that he's the guy. Somewhere in Vegas Flower is smiling.

Murray's numbers are much better if you throw out the 6 he gave up mopping up against the Blackhawks, but Niemi has pretty much sucked in all three of his games

Meanwhile, the Caps blueline is in shambles after losing Shattenkirk, Alzner, and Schmidt in the [Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad] offseason. Then Niskanen went on long-term IR.

Elliotte Friedman even suggested they should work a trade with Vegas for a defenseman.

The Golden Knights have already passed their inaugural season with flying colors, no matter where they finish in the standings. And, it will definitely be higher than anyone predicted.
 
Now that's what I'm talkin bout CANES.

Wins in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto. Maybe we should move to Canada

Doesn’t seem like that new goalie is working out. I was thinking about rejoining NHL fandom this season but the NBA has been great and the Canes stink so it will have to wait a year (at least).
 
So frustrating. Nobody likes throwing points away like the 'Canes

ehh, wouldn't say that about Darling. He's 12th in league in GAA (albeit a subpar save %) and the canes as a whole are literally middle of the pack at 15th in GAA. it's more of the fact that we can't score. 27th in goals/game.

Every single team in the Metro has between 1 and 1.33 points per game. Cray cray
 
The Canes D is finally starting to tighten up, and the SV% is rising for the goaltending as a result. They’re still woefully bad at scoring, but their defense may start winning them some games.
 
Braden Holtby is a stud - he's now won 200 games. But come on dude, shave your fucking neckbeard!
