Facebook Gold from Crazies

There wouldn't be the issue of respecting veterans and fallen soldiers and everything else that the anthem stands for. If the players decide to sit out a quarter or game in the name of Civil Rights advancement, that is a much more direct and effective message than something that immediately causes confusion.

Who is confused? People asked Kaep why he kneeled and he explained it. There's no reason for confusion.

People who aren't bothered by police violence simply made up a more acceptable reason to be mad about the protests.

It's interesting that you think interfering with the game itself would be a better form a protest than not interfering with the game.

Just saw this pop up on Facebook:

Call for a National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, Veterans Day Weekend. Boycott all football telecast, all fans, all ticket holders, stay away from attending any games, let them play to empty stadiums. Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin. Continue with the weekly boycott of televised games.

so, when you disrespect it, you show disrespect for your fellow Americans; good way to get support for your cause, carry on

It's not disrespectful in my opinion to kneel or sit down when the National Anthem is playing, so that argument holds zero water to me. It's a piece of cloth.

Do you seriously think that the National Anthem is only about and for the military?

No. And I would hope that you wouldn't seriously think that the National Anthem has nothing to do with the military. Hence why there can be reasonable confusion.

doesn't the anthem also stand for things like equal rights, justice for all, etc?

He changed his own story several times when asked. If he is confused as the person doing it, why wouldn't other people be confused seeing it?

Sure, it stands for a lot of things. And he is the one who chose to publicly protest it, so he should expect that there are similarly lots of ways to interpret his protest.

It's easy to see why there is so much division in the country just by witnessing this thread.
