Facebook Gold from Crazies

Yep, Norway, Sweden, Finalnd, Denmark all suck.

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/worlds-happiest-countries-united-nations-2019/index.html

World's happiest countries
1. Finland
2. Denmark
3. Norway
4. Iceland
5. Netherlands
6. Switzerland
7. Sweden

Zero of the countries listed are socialist or Marxist.

Also what metrics are they using to define happy? My experiences with Scandinavian countries are that everyone is locked up and depressed 8 months out of the year, and are manic during the summer months. Not what I would traditionally consider happy people.

Those countries and their citizens are PROUD to tell you they are living in socialist countries.

Please stop talking about this. Every time you do. You make yourself look dumber.

A real heavyweight battle brewing here.

This argument should have ended when sailor posted the Nazi party “socialist” platform points while failing to revisit whether those policies were really put in place. Or addressing the policies they actually enacted.

Leftist/Marxist's ideology and authoritarian leaders resulted in far higher death count in the 20th century than fascism. To be clear fuck fascism, but Marxism was been far more detrimental in the 20th century.

All of this would be really meaningful if: a) the Democratic Party was in anyway Marxist; and b) the Republican Party wasn't really into fascism.

We have Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden as the most likely nominees for the nomination on one side, and a small-handed wannabe dictator on the other. The wannabe just tried to extort a sham political investigation of a political opponent using American tax dollars. Meanwhile, Democrats want every American to have healthcare.

I know that your victim complex means you have to bosides everything, but let's use a little thought here. Your brain, while broken, isn't in full on dementia like sailor, and you aren't a theReff-style moron like Brad. Do better.

K I'm neither a Stalinist so you aren't going to get much argument from me here (he wasn't a good Marxist either).

Most extremist movements take components from far left and far right ideologies. Nazism is a good example. The fact that a far left loonie like Townie have such an issue with it just pretty much validates my opinion.

Again we are talking about political movements that are well outside the norms of the American political spectrum so I don't know why anybody would be butt hurt by these characterizations but oh well.

Good talk, thanks for engaging.

The name Nazi is a contraction of the full party name, National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei; NSDAP). Nazism, in short, is simply one of several varieties of socialism. As a political party it controlled Germany from 1933-1945 under Adolf Hitler, resulting in World War II and a campaign of mostly anti-Jewish and racist politics, resulting in genocide (see the Holocaust).

Supporters of Communism, or of socialism in general, like to pretend that Nazism was not socialist but "right wing", for similar reasons to why fascism is often associated with the right wing despite being left wing. Despite this, however, it featured enough similarities with Communism that they were in fact closer to the far left, even including anti-Semitism, which Karl Marx had advocated.[3]

Conservapedia.com, checkmate lubes.

This isn't really the thread for this discussion but I do understand why populism from both Trump and Sanders, challenging the neoliberal status quo (through very different means) is dangerous and lacks sense for centrists. I therefore understand why it's easy to make facile arguments like the Horseshoe Theory lumping leftists in with right wing extremists. Still, if their means and ends are so different, I'm not sure why it's useful at all as an argument unless you're willing to acknowledge it's because you're heavily invested in the status quo. And the status quo isn't working for millions of Americans. And so long as centrists continue to ignore that part of the country willfully, shunning the left who (like much of the center) wants to do something about inequality and health care, you're helping the far right. Of course on this board you're likely to get the opinions of about the 75th% and above, socioeconomically.

In this thread townie gets butt hurt over criticism of extremist left wing movements like marxism and communism

This works closer to the truth and can be evidenced by real life people a lot easier.

a lot of words to say "people who are basically just trying to get through the day are disinterested in cults"

Fucking socialist climate.

I'm not in DSA. I'm a pretty standard registered Dem. I've more or less voted straight ticket Dem my whole life. Just frustrated at the needle the party tries to thread without widening its tent one inch every election. There exists an America outside of the "If Hilary was President we'd be at brunch right now" crowd though.

Dude, if they actually had some UV in their life, they wouldn't be sitting around worrying about gay-ass ways to take care of the less fortunate and more effectively govern. Sun's out, guns out bro. Less social equity, more jet-skis and pussy.

Well once you drop the hysterics maybe you will realize how ridiculous of a comment that is.

You're doing it wrong. Jet Skis are for the poors.

Why are people even talking about Antifa???

Some intellectual on the Tunnels Left once posted that "Antifa is barely even real" and "it's a conservative boogeyman".

Case closed. End of thread.

Just trying to figure out how we are rewriting history. Nazis are now liberals ergo antifa must be conservatives. Rewriting history gets confusing so I’m just trying to keep up.

I've been far more civil in this conversation than you have. So far you've said I've used hysterics, called me a far left loonie, and said I'm butthurt. I'm just trying to have a conversation.
