Snow

When do they expect it to arrive on Friday?

Looks like more of a nuissance event as of now. With the cold temperatures lately, could still make things dicey though.

Man, this is going to suck for the afternoon commute. Everyone in Raleigh still has nightmares of the 2005 1" ice event. I did notice driving in today that they've already brined the roads.

Yes, and here is his updated call map, as the computer models are showed much less precip with this storm.

Section E, up to .25 of ice. Fuck. A quarter inch is about how much we received during the ice disaster of 2002.

Wake County Schools are closing 3 hours early tomorrow. Many others across the state are doing the same. Remember when the ice comes, it will only be in the upper 20s. Very cold. It will all stick and freeze solid.

That's gonna be absolutely gross. .25 of ice when it stays under freezing is an absolute disaster. I would think if that comes to fruition there will be some power outages as well.

ha! someone here was just looking at the national forecast and were wondering why they even bother talking about ".1 or .2" ice, that's nothing."

:rulz:

Fuuu, gf was gonna try and drive to WS from Asheville tomorrow night. How treacherous would that be?

Ugh, and it won't clear up/get any better on Saturday either, will it?
