Ongoing gun violence/injury thread

It's too bad Dems won't have the cajones to pass a federal law banning open carry of pistols or long guns in public. The 2nd Amendment does say "A well regulated Militia". This would be a good regulation.

In Georgia, a couple of white guys can chase down a black guy in their truck and kill him because they suspect him of a crime.
 
First you have to frighten or force him into a confrontation where you can stand yer ground!

It's a little bit more complicated than that, but not much. So yeah, those two can rot. Also not mentioned in that story is that the runner has some developmental issues too, which only makes it worse.

Geez that Georgia modern lynching shooting story/video is so fucked up. They shot him because they knew they would get away with it. And the local police backed them up. Thank god for the idiot who was in on it who filmed the shooting, otherwise nothing would have happened. And conservatives question BLM and Kaep kneeling, while armed white people carry semi-autos inside capitol buildings and yell at capitol police and they remain silent on that bullshit. I pray for the day these conservatives wake up. Not likely.

Not that I'm aware of, but looks like something will thanks to Shaun King who has exposed them and got the video. Trying to remain hopeful about this one...
 
The local DA had already passed the case onto another jurisdiction for consideration of prosecution before the video came out. Everyone locally was conflicted because they knew at least one side and the shooter was a former law enforcement officer.

Do you think anything would have happened had the video not come out? Given what we know about law enforcement keeping evidence suppressed and re-writing narratives as they pertain to people of color, I'm skeptical anything would have happened even through another jurisdiction. "We are troubled. Not enough evidence to convict, though, sorry." Unfortunately, precedent has been set.
 
I don't know. There was definitely already national news media attention on the event though.
