Ok, one more question. I don't need a separate ticket for a 4 month old do I?
Nope. Under a year gets in free. Or slightly over a year if they look small enough.

Shot in the dark that maybe someone here knows about this, but I'm under the impression I can pay my nanny's monthly healthcare premium and receive a partial tax credit for those payments. However, I haven't been able to figure out whether I need to pay it directly to the insurance company or whether she can pay and I can simply reimburse her (and of course I'd keep a copy of the invoice). I'm also not sure whether this option is only available starting in January with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and, if so, whether it's only available if the nanny's health insurance is through the government's SHOP exchange. I'm under the impression I could get some tax credit now, but that for next year she'll have to switch insurance providers and get her health insurance through the SHOP exchange (which of course seems like a pain in the ass).
Anyway, I have my personal CPA looking into this (aka my mom), but because it's confusing, I figured I'd check with my fellow parents to see if any of you can offer insight.
tl;dr: Paying for childcare suuuuuuucks.

I had my most awkward parenting day on Tuesday. So, my 18 month old son has been real moody and crying when we get him dressed and pick him up. Not like him at all. So my wife and I are discussing what could possible be wrong (he had hand, foot, mouth ten days before = nightmare). We decide to give him the once over and my wife sees that he screams crying whenever you move or touch his right elbow. So we call the doctor (our pediatrician) and he goes in. End up a children's hospital and then to an ortho specialist. He has a broken elbow. So at each doctor: How did this happen?? How long ago?? And we have no idea. We thought defax was going to come get him. Tough kid though.
So my wife's due date is 11/20 and this pregnancy thing SUCKS for both of us (her more than me obviously). She's now experiencing some of the more terrible side effects (gross), but the heart burn, back pain, sleeping problems, general discomfort 24/7, etc. YIKES. It sucks sleeping in a bedroom with wide open windows when it's sub-40 degrees, but she's always hot so I just deal. We have our final sono on Friday, but I'm pretty sure my wife wants this thing out of her ASAP. She was all about the vaginal birth, but I don't think she'll have the patience to wait more than a few days after the given due date if our daughter doesn't want to meet us yet.
Just venting. My wife keeps reading everyone has amnesia once the baby is born and forgets all about how terrible pregnancy can be, but that's not helping right now.
