The Pit Parenting Thread

We provide lactose free milk because they provide regular, then we also do wipes and diapers. They provide breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

Had the ENT referral this morning, tubes go in March 25th. Was fine at the Dr, ears looked good. Then got a call 90 min later from daycare with a fever of 101.5.

Oh the life of a daycare child.

I give it a day until that pic ends up on Facebook as a political posts warning of the dangers of socialism.

Especially since it’s capitalist AF. It’s basically what their parents do at work everyday.

Yeah, after rereading the post I realize that most of those parents have child slaves who make consumer goods for the benefit of one person.

One parent might be a lawyer, employing child slaves to write briefs; while another is likely an arborist, sending child slaves up 50-foot trees to look for rotten limbs. A third might be a nurse who uses child slaves to take your vitals.

setting aside the dumb, evil idea of tricking kids into thinking they were getting a BAB animal...

the birthday throwers spent their money* to buy a bunch of stuffed animals and tricked other children in picking accessories for those stuffed animals and then kept the stuffed animals (that they paid for) and that's capitalism to you?

*with some nominal contributions

Yeah. The birthday throwers put up the capital (paying for the Build a Bear Party), hired workers (invited kids to the party), paid them (cake and pizza), gave the a specific task (build the bears), and took the fruits of the labor (kept the bears).

How is that not capitalism? The only way to make it more capitalist is if the birthday throwers sold the bears to cover their costs and make a profit. And that may have happened.
