We dominate this coaching list

Were current coaches excluded? Why is DM not on there? We should have 3 of the 20 (4 if you count Bz twice).

Because it’s an old thread.

oh wow. I didn't even notice the dates. the article has aged well.

One way to think about this: Think how good we'd be as a program outside of shooting ourselves in the foot.

Not still a blue, but top of the next level based upon reg season and surely a few more post season wins.

The most pathetic part of this is that we hired [redacted] RIGHT AFTER his pitiful coaching performance at CU. It's not as though he had a tough run, got fired, honed his skills somewhere else and then attempted a return. He sucked, we hired him anyway, and he continued to suck.

It truly is amazing that we hired [redacted] after the Dino firing. He only had one good season at AF with someone else's players and was awful at Colorado. Why Ron felt it was a good idea to replace Dino with him will be something I'll never understand.

Because they’re friends and [Redacted] wanted to be close to his daughter.

If updated, the list would replace Stokes with James Johnson as the worst VT coach. The list can be questioned on the absence of Les Robinson's name (or was he really not that bad?).

I think Les started with one of State's better backcourts. His issue came after they left. IIRC

I was thinking the same thing. I thought he actually had a decent run at Colorado. Obviously not.

Must've been because Dino was playing hide the salami with his daughter.

16. Jeff [Redacted], Colorado
Years: 2007-10
Record: 36-58, 10-38 Big 12
[Redacted] makes his second appearance on the list. Again, he won at Air Force and coached in the NBA, but he couldn’t manage a winning season at Colorado. Successor Tad Boyle, meanwhile, took over to lead the Buffaloes to back-to-back postseason appearances.

I totally forgot how enormously bad Buzz had been when he was hired by Wellman.

Any time the other fan base is celebrating their coach leaving, you know it isn't a good hire. At least Tulsa fans were mildly disgruntled.

My dad knew a guy who is a football and basketball season ticket holder, big giver to the Deacon Club, Gold Lot, all of that. He loved Bz. He even refuses to this day to invite people who were critical of him to his annual Christmas party. I'll never understand how anyone could support Bz to any extent, let alone go that far.

But that's a symptom of the problem with WFU athletics.
