FUCK YOU, RON WELLMAN

Seven Stages of dealing with Wellman over the last seven years: 1. Shock and Denial 2. Pain and Guilt 3. Anger and Bargaining 4. Depression, Reflection, Extreme Loneliness and Abandonment 5. Upward Turn (Hope) 6. Reconstruction 7. Acceptance that Wellman will not RESIGN

Whatever Ron is saying to the media is the exact opposite of what he's saying behind closed doors. This pertains to coaches and players.

Wake Forest will NEVER again be competitive in basketball or football as long as Ron Wellman is the AD.

what the fuck does this mean? or is this more cryptic nonsense without any real insight?

At least he's in his mid sixties

Would Mike Buddie be a good replacement ?

No. Absolutely not. We need to completely clean house. No one who was ever associated with or even remotely known by Ron Wellman should be considered.

Wellman is saving me quite a bit of money on not buying season tickets though. Thanks Ron!

It means that everything he says to the media -EVERYTHING- is said with his fingers crossed behind his back.

Nothing cryptic. He does not have his coaches back- NONE of them, past or present...he does not support his coaches nor does he back their decisions. He might tell Dan Collins he does, but he doesn't.

He does not support his players. For instance, we had a player a few years ago who got in a little trouble with the police...the situation was somewhat blown out of proportion (things were exaggerated in the heat of the moment) BUT the kid still made a bad decision. Wellman tells the media he will make a decision regarding this player's status on the team once LE finishes the investigation and all facts are known. Wellman exits the room and the next word out of his mouth to the HC is "He's gone".

He wasn't worried about the kid's well-being. He wasn't concerned with how horribly this might affect this young guy's future. He didn't try to find out any facts nor did he offer any kind of counseling or resources. He simply did not want to protect one of his own while the case was still being investigated for fear that this might look bad for Wake Forest. Threw the kid out like trash.

And this is not an isolated example. Ron has been good at playing the media for a while, but 17 transfers in what? 6 years? His lies are going to bite him in the ass pretty soon...especially if the media has has the guts to ask the right questions.

At Wake Forest, one must be perfect if they are playing a revenue sport.

[Redacted] was shown the door when the money stopped rolling in. ron will remain until the money dries up. pretty sure he will leave on his own timetable.

Yet he hasn't been good with the media. He's been fortunate to have local media (Collins has to some extent) who refuse to call him out on destroying Wake Forest athletics.

BY THE WAY....if you want media interference just let me in on the secrets and I'll get some ish out there REAL QUICK.

"Media"

Consistently lies to people, nobody can trust anything he says on any topics, he's hated by a large swath of people...where can I donate to Wellman's presidential run? Seems like he could be a great fit on Trump's ticket.

Don't take anything he says to the media at face value. It's usually very different from his actions.

It's very hard to work for an administrator who doesn't have your back and speaks out of both sides of his mouth. It's difficult to play for a program that doesn't have the support of the AD.

While I did not support the [Redacted] hiring and thought he was not a coach that would be successful in the ACC, he was never given full control of his program. Decisions were made for him in every area.

Ask yourself...if a UNC player gets in trouble with police, do you hear from Bubba or Roy? How many times have you heard Duke's AD speak for K?

And the coach who tries to take control of his program? He's without a job.

Maybe Ron will give control to the coach who starts winning, but it's very hard to rebuild a program when players transfer out at a high rate because of conditions in the program.

We can directly blame all those fat old men getting jerked off in a glorified airplane hanger for the state of the program. Those who would rather have an insignificant amount of personal recognition (really, how fucking pathetic to you have to be to get off on being a "Wake Forest Booster"), rather than see WF athletics succeed.

fuck you Wellman!!!

that is all,

warak

This is something that I'm interested in hearing more about/want to get some interviews with former players for an article.

The transfer rate is probably going to be high for a school who has had 3 coaches in 6-7 years, and I'm sure a handful were those reasons, but I would love to hear why each player transferred out and their interactions with the staff/AD that led to that.
