Official Pit Job Search/Employment Thread

Dash - does your company have any sales or account management opportunities available?

We actually JUST hired an AM who started TODAY! (doesn't mean we won't hire any more soon though-- we're adding accounts like crazy these days and speaking from an AM's perspective (I'm one now too!) even with the new girl, it could still get a little crazy up in herre if things keep going the way they are). Both of our sales people are relatively new too, but one of them might not be permanent... so MAYBE?! haha. I'll keep this thread posted :)

How's your voice? I have some voiceover work I need to contract out over the summer (you could record at FTCC), it wouldn't be a ton of work, but you could fit in around your schedule.

If Thunderbolt doesn't want to do that I'd be interested in doing some Voiceover work for you. I'm working part time at a local running store and going back to school right now, but I could always use the extra cash. Plus the opportunity sounds pretty interesting and my annunciation skillz are far better than the self editing I do on here.

we're hiring a web/digital content specialist. perfect candidate would be a hybrid copywriter, website designer, user-experience, SEO expert. know anybody? let a girl know. (Raleigh)

Do you have to live in Raleigh or can this be a work from home job?

I know someone with a freelance company who could easily do the copywriting/some of the marketing...

What type of time commitment are we talking about here?

Not sure at this point, wouldn't likely be too high, depends how many takes you would need. I can send some copy to anyone who wants to record a demo (and you could just do it with a webcam/internal mike)

we need a full-time, in-house person with real web content experience. are they interested?

No and they are likely too experienced for it anyway. Sorry. They do have real web content experience, but they are GSO4Life.

boooo unfortch! yeah we're looking someone with probably 3-7 years of experienceish. It's basically my old job but it's for a bigger client so they want someone even more legit than i was when i got hired.

My works hiring again! This time it's for a web application director. We're also moving into a sick new office next week (gym, access to a spa right downstairs, awesome coworkers, good work/life balance). I can pull some strings if interested!

OK, here is the situation, we have to find RDToy a different job. As many of you know we moved to Charlotte for a job she took back in August and it completely fell apart after she got here. :(

She took an account manager job with Dish Network and has been there since last fall. However, Dish is always in the running for worst company in the US for a reason and we now know it is legitimate. Unfortunately she had to have a job.

We still own our house in Cary, so we could totally move back to Raleigh if we had to, or we are more than happy to stay put in Charlotte. So if anyone knows of anything in Raleigh, Durham or Charlotte, please let me know. Frankly, we are not committed to staying in NC, so if any of you have a great job anywhere, let me know and we'll take a look! Here is her background:

She has worked as an account manager with Dish since last fall. She trains the noobs in the Windstream call center here in Charlotte on selling Dish products and services. Just prior to us moving from Raleigh she was unemployed for about 8 months after her company closed down. It was a small pharmaceutical company where she had worked for about 5 years. She started out as a sales rep, was then promoted to field trainer, then promoted to corporate trainer and moved to the Cary home office. She was later promoted again to run the company's PDMA compliance department (making sure the reps reconcile samples properly and don't get in trouble with the FDA). That was the role she was in when the company sold out its drug lines and closed down.

She has a lot of experience in account management, corporate training, inside and outside sales and pharmaceutical sample compliance. She spent most of her recent time in pharmaceuticals but she has worked in advertising sales too. She is really good at account management, running corporate training regimens and creating business relationships, so if any of you guys know of anything that sounds like it might work for her, give me a shout. We are definitely looking.

i definitely would have had something for her about a month ago, but i'll keep my eyes open. I used to work for DIRECTV's largest business partner (and one of the best places to work in Raleigh). I'll check and see if they might be hiring something pertinent. (usually they're hiring SOMEBODY). I still have some connections that could pull some strings.

ETA: yep, they're hiring a couple of account exec. type jobs. Would she be interested in sales at all?

Awesome, thanks for checking into it. Just let me know if there is anything worth following up on!

As far as sales go, she is not opposed to it at all. She has plenty of experience there. It would really just boil down to what the base versus commissions look like, prospecting, inside or outside, etc. If there is something to look at just let me know and I'll point her in that direction. You can just PM me. Thanks again!

Turned in my 2 week notice today. It's 9:30 and none of the letter recipients are here, so I left letters in their chairs.
