Pit Pet Thread

Love this guy so much:

I use the knee method. Just stick it up in the air and let the dog's chest/belly run into it. My dog stopped jumping up pretty quickly.
Skip doesn't care at all about the knee to the chest.

Just got him booked for some positive reinforcement dog training.

A good friend of mine just discovered her dog has cancer in its right front foot. Her vet says 3-4 months without surgery and only about 1 year if they were to remove foot. Who else can give another opinion?

What kind of cancer? Melanoma? Remove the whole paw or just a toe?

Is there a vet school near by? They would have oncology specialists that could give a more experienced perspective. It gets expensive though.

New Foster dog. This girl is skin and bones. Poor thing was picked up as a stray and tested heart worm positive. The rescue is trying to raise money to get her treatments and we are fostering her in the mean time. She is very sweet and very submissive so far.

That is so sad - I don't understand how you can have a pet and not give them monthly heart worm prevention pills. The heart worm treatments are so expensive and involved and so easily preventable.

She has clearly been mistreated in a lot of ways. She is literally skin and bones; you can see every rib, the notches in her spine, the points on her hip bones and she is covered in skin sores. This poor poor dog.

New foster dog, Percy the Jack Russell terrier. He is a sweet 10(+) year old dog given up by his dick head owner that was tired of having a dog. We think the poor fella is completely def and we know he is super nervous due to all the tumult in his life lately. 10 year old dogs are really hard to find homes for...maybe he is a keeper.

That's a cute dog. You should keep him.

Can believe I haven't posted a pic of my girls in more than 2 months.

Ugh, burying a pupper was not in my plans tonight.

My brothers dog had a seizure, he took him to the vet and a cancerous tumor on his stomach had ruptured and had to be put down. He was 9 years old, and saw my bro through some really rough times.

Man that sucks. I'm really sorry.

Our photographer took a couple pup shots during our newborn shoot today. It definitely brightened the mood.

Ol' Riley dog approved of the spring snow. Here he is using his head to plow it around in the front yard:

I love my pup but man she pissed me off today. She climbed up on the dining room table and damaged my eye glasses. This happened in less than 5 minutes.
