BBall Recruiting Megathread 3.0 - The Manning era begins: The Harry Giles Chronicles

You may as well rename this thread, "The False Hopes Thread."

Robert Johnson is a funny looking player on tape. He's super smooth, great shot, doesn't look like he's working that hard, but he looks way shorter than 6'3" and he's got one helluva badonkadonk (caboose, derrierie) for a high school male. He looks like a 6'0" version of JR Reid sans the flat top.

Jaybone is now officially trying wayyy too hard for Gaybone responses.

Someone explain why a fourth year for Bz was so necessary?

Damn. This is a sad state of affairs... It's like Groundhog Day.

I guess now we should be going all-in on MFD, and pray that his breakout summer results in a ranking bump. He strikes me as a better fit for us than Devin Mitchell.

In any event, the fact that we can't recruit borderline top-100 players going into year four of Buzz's tenure is beyond pitiful. Chastise BuzzOut all you want, or equivocate about star rankings and the validity of statistical analyses, but this state of affairs is damn pitiful.

Granted, I'm too young to have experienced anything outside of the tail end of the Staak-era, but this is, by far, the worst that I've ever seen out of Wake Forest basketball, let alone Wake Forest athletics as a whole.

I just updated the front page, but here's what our 2014 basketball recruiting looks like post-Robert Johnson.

Mitchell, Moore, Haas, and Fischer-Davis seem to be the guys we're most interested in at the moment.

According to RJ this is not a miss bc we didn't make his top 7 and he didn't take an official. Nothing to see here...

It's a miss and he said already that this "epitomizes his failure."

No reason to stir things up unnecessarily.

At least we won't waste any more time on him. When UNC offered it was over.

BUT WAIT I THOUGHT HE LOVED OUR STAFF!?!?! He loved our staff so much that he couldn't even stand to put us in the top 7.

Hard to expect recruits to commit to Wake Forest if there is any doubt who Wake's coach will be in the future.

Maybe it is time for Ron to give Buzz a contract extension so that he can reassure the recruits that he will be at Wake going forward.
LMAO!

Didn't somebody (Fat DANCING MAN) say we couldn't get rid of any assistants cause we are recruiting so well....

Our SG recruiting going back several years has been disappointing. The only good SGs we've had since Craig Dawson except for CJ were combos (Gray and Teague). Feels like every other school can get a 6-4 to 6-6 dead eye shooter/slasher except for us.

[reply to Ish] Actually, it works the other way. If you have any post presence or a PG who can break down the defense, even RJ can hit threes. You get wide open looks.
