Fargo got by Decatur 87-72 w/ a pretty solid overall effort. Have gotten some really nice play from sr Dorrance as a backup after spending most of the season on na, and he put up 13 in 14 min. Next up is Jackson who have put up some pretty imposing numbers against a fairly weak schedule. We'll need to be at the top of our game to move on.

Dearborn was able to get by the Topeka Tar Heels last night 104-96. again, solid game all around...everyone is chipping in since we do not have a "leader" on the team. next up is the Bismarck Trifecta.

recruiting is a huge mess...only one CL and a bunch of ties. i tried chasing down another player last week only to find them maxed...wasted rpe, which i didn't have. luckily my one CL looks good because i am getting walk-on(s) this time! literally nobody below 47rpe in my net, so i guess i will just get a bunch of guys to 28rpe.

any castaways welcome...

Surprisingly easy win for Fargo tonight as we rolled past Jackson 91-73. Pretty balanced effort w/ 7 players scoring over 8 points. Player of the game probably goes to Mike Jones - 16 points, 6 reb, 3 blk at SG and most importantly held his counterpart to 6-18 from the floor.

Next up are the surprise #10 seed Birmingham Houndogs. They don't look that imposing at first glance but they're coming off back to back double-digit wins against solid clubs so we won't be taking it for granted. Congrats and good luck to everyone still playing.

Advanced metrics do not like Carbondale. We don't shoot with any great efficiency. Our starters are +2 on defense and our bench is +4. We're 5th in our conference in rebounding differential. You look at our box scores and wonder how in the hell this team wins.

Such was the case last night against Evansville. Carbondale mustered an 8 point OT win. We were outrebounded by 9 and had twice as many turnovers as we average. But we did just enough, forcing Evansville to shoot over our Zone, because we were not allowing penetration (unlike Frankfort) and were contesting every shot down low.

Unfortunately, we did not come out of the game unscathed and we'll have to figure out how to work around one of our best players at a Cond 9. It's not an injury, but I would like to be at full strength against 1 Seed Camden. Good luck in the rest of your games, RSF.

DiV,

You are in Dwyane Wade/Tony Parker mode: playing through condition 9's (injury or "winded"). In my experience, it will take a couple of games for that cond 9 to show up on the injury list as Probable. Keep playing on that bad knee/hamstring. Congrats on making the S16. It seems your team has some chemistry going in its favor.

Dearborn went into the game last night relatively confident in our match-up and minutes for players. we got our ass handed to us by the Bismarck Trifecta! we have not been handled like that by any other team, a ton of top teams, over the last two-three seasons. we lost 75-54 and shot 33%...holy shit!

anyway, this team's run appears over and it is time for a big rebuild. luckily we have a few players (well just Hubie Nicholson) that can keep us afloat for a few seasons but finding him some help will have to come out of recruiting...and i am in a really bad way this season.

i find myself saddened by Martin Dorman. he was one of my best recruit wins and he was a 4 year bust at e,e,f,e,g,f. he never shot e and could never be relied on for production...sort of feasted off the bad teams, IMO.

going to really miss Jose Rodriguez (g,g,e,g,g,f)...at 6'9", he went from SF to PG, back to SF and ended at C. he was my Magic Johnson but he just didn't produce enough to 'will' a team to victory. similar to Gregory Wood (g,e,f,g,f,g), they just didn't shoot well enough to expect X points every game...Wood also had TO issues.

i think this class was 1/1 but damn, i feel like i got burned by the rating. i have had much better players out of worse classes...no chemistry?

good luck to all teams left playing! it is time to experiment with next season's lineup.

Last call. I'm making the schedule this weekend. RSF, pls grab the team data, add your recruiting factor sometime soon, and post the results.

Okay. I assume that ph and storm just forgot to enter, and I added them in here. If they wanted to stay out, lemme know and I'll modify it. Jersey City also stayed out this year, but since Pilot entered Odessa, I assume JC's absence is intentional. Lastly, Topeka's AWOL, but they're not really a long-time entrant, so I didn't add them in.

At any rate! We have 15 entrants this year. The returning talent among the top half of the field is stellar (8 of the top 13 L7 teams in returning talent are participating). The bottom half of the field, there's some variance, but everyone's in the top 60, so that's something.

Code:
Team Coach Ave HW	Ave SH	Ave All
1	Evansville Rachelwoods rsfaithful	7.3	2.7	5.0
3	Frankfort Deacon Blues awaken 14.0	24.7	19.3
6	Fargo Wheatshuckers dbracking	27.3	20.0	23.7
7	Duluth Bullish Deacs phdeac 23.7	25.0	24.3
9	Carbondale Violence simplex10	30.3	25.3	27.8
11	Odessa Spooks tyork13 28.3	30.3	29.3

54	Flagstaff whippersnappers	pilotdeac	62.0	57.3	59.7
60	Cincinnati Skyline Deacs	dadeacs 74.0	56.0	65.0

Now, I'm combining these talent averages with PR averages, just like last year. I decided to calculate both a weighted PR average to give more recent seasons more weight. So, I made this season's PR count thrice, while last season's counts twice, and two seasons ago counts once. Here's what that average came up with:
Code:
	TEAM S77	S76	S75	AVG	WGT
1	Frankfort Deacon Blues 5	8	5	6.0	6.0
2	Flagstaff Whippersnappers	3	13	10	8.7	7.5
3	Fargo Wheatshuckers 19	4	11	11.3	12.7
4	Dearborn Warak's Deacs 21	5	4	10.0	12.8
5	Odessa Spooks 1	16	48	21.7	13.8
6	Carbondale Violence 9	17	46	24.0	17.8
7	Duluth Bullish Deacs 43	5	9	19.0	24.7
8	Philadelphia Insatiables	13	52	6	23.7	24.8
9	Evansville Rachelwoods 17	45	56	39.3	32.8
10	Pensacola NJ Gunners 37	25	48	36.7	34.8
11	Nashville Domination 28	51	47	42.0	38.8
12	Scranton Paperweights 23	69	28	40.0	39.2
13	Boca Raton Storm 59	26	26	37.0	42.5
14	Eugene Travelers 35	74	98	69.0	58.5
15	Cincinnati Skyline Deacs	80	47	77	68.0	68.5

And, when I combine the two ranking systems into one final glorious DeACCon seeding, this is what we get, assuming 50/50 weight between talent and PR:
Code:
	Team Coach MAGS	PR	AVG
1	Frankfort Deacon Blues awaken 19.3	6.0	12.7
2	Fargo Wheatshuckers dbracking	23.7	12.7	18.2
3	Evansville Rachelwoods rsfaithful	5.0	32.8	18.9
4	Odessa Spooks tyork13 29.3	13.8	21.6
5	Carbondale Violence simplex10	27.8	17.8	22.8
6	Duluth Bullish Deacs phdeac 24.3	24.7	24.5
7	Dearborn Warak's Deacs warak 40.5	12.8	26.7
8	Flagstaff whippersnappers	pilotdeac	59.7	7.5	33.6
9	Scranton Paperweights texasdeac	30.0	39.2	34.6
10	Nashville Domination reddoor 30.3	38.8	34.6
11	Philadelphia Insatiables	swooper72	49.0	24.8	36.9
12	Boca Raton Storm stormfury	37.0	42.5	39.8
13	Pensacola NJ Gunners duster1215	55.8	34.8	45.3
14	Eugene Travelers turftoe 43.0	58.5	50.8
15	Cincinnati Skyline Deacs	dadeacs 65.0	68.5	66.8

If you need calculations for a 16th member (Jersey City/Topeka/Etc), just let me know and I'll do it.

Flagstaff advances to the Elite Eight with a route of Boston that we didn't see coming at all. But we sure will take it! Up next is a really good Denver team so we will see if we make it to the FF

Bruce Birdsong won his third straight C13 PoY Award tonight, and was named to his fourth straight All-C13 First Team.

Only one other player in Evansville's history has been named to four All-C13 teams-- John Lawson. Lawson is also the only other player in Evansville's history to be named C13 PoY three times. I've gotta say, while I loved Birdsong when I signed him, I always sort of assumed that he'd play in Felix Richardson's shadow. Instead, the kid has surpassed every expectation I had, and has become an all-time great for the program. I'm gonna miss him next season.

On to the elite 8 as Fargo gets past Birgmingham 88-77. Aaron King led the way w/ 27 and 3 stls, and was also named to the all-lg 4th team. Next up is undefeated and top-seeded Camden. They lead the league in points allowed but rely a ton on one guy offensively. If we can find a way to limit him I'd like our chances. Good luck to flagstaff and frankfort!

Frankfort made the E8 with a 76-62 win over Kissimmee. We had four starters in double figures; they had two. We get #1 New Haven next. Regardless of outcome, this has been our deepest run in the NTT in a while.

Recruiting:
Gary Fuller 1/1
Roy Rawlinson 2/2
Ronald Scruggins 2/2
Neil Gross 0/1, but don't fit Local pref like RSF does
Freddie Daigle CL - nice EGFFFF bSG
Austin Hollis CL - scrimmages better than his HS stats; brings defense to the equation which is something fairly new to Frankfort.

This is supposed to be a PG class, but Fuller is the only starter PG . Neil Gross is quite a find, but not a PG per HS scrimmages. CL's are SG's. This may end up being a SG/SF class if I don't land Fuller. Coe and Perkins can be PG's next year, so I can afford to take the 3 best recruits.

RSF, what is our final DeACCon field? The 15 above minus Boca :tear: ?
