Dearborn is maxing:

Leslie Barclay r2
Mervin Bergeron r8
Alexander Green r16
Willie Coyne r16

Well Flagstaff has mighty Frankfort up tonight. Their stats through two games are stupid. Shooting 82/134 = 61% :rulz:

While awaken was complaining about having to many big guys with good hands earlier in this thread he's using it to his advantage. How in the world is a team suppose to match up with a 7'2 SF? I could do it last season but with my max miss on Ingio Montoya I just don't have the bigs to do it this season. Can't play Gantt at SF due to having to play a 6'6 bC and bPF. Snodgrass is a great defender and rebounder for his size at SF but he will have his hands full with Mr. Tuttle. I feel I'm really going to get hurt at PG tonight with Stockdale the senior, against AP the freshman. I'm particularly concerned about his TO's tonight. Stone is going to have to have a huge game for me tonight I believe. Good luck awaken, don't beat me to bad:thumbsup:

The Top 75 (and others)

This is a list of players predicted to have a 15% chance or more of being in the Top 75. Most of our maxes are on this list. Some are much higher than I would have thought. I thought I was playing it relatively safe and maybe get a 0/0. Looks like I'm sitting around 2/2 for all of my maxes, maybe I luck out with a 1/1.

2-4 on the list, and one of them (Doucette) is about as clear of a Flagstaff lead by the prefs as I can get. I'll certainly take that. Hope you are right on Yi and Deaver Ph.

Don't think there is any way Brian Montgomery isn't a really highly recruited guy, don't care what the prefs are. He's a +7 6'10 EXC scouted guy. He's going to be highly coveted. Also little surprised to not see Carlos Bledsoe anywhere on the list. Think he is certainly max worthy. If he ends up a CL for someone or a netter, i'll be kicking myself for not maxing him. Thanks for the work Ph.

Yes thanks PH! I hope your wrong though as you have all 4 of my maxes on that list. Gulp!!!

Thanks tau, and good luck to you too - not that you've needed it recently. As in real bball, this game is all about matchups, and your guys have matched up pretty well against me for quite a while. Glad I didn't have to face you in the NTT last year. I'm pretty much returning the same team and lineup as last year, but I know you've had some studs graduate.

Tuttle at SF is not my first choice. Lack of a SF (Gene Watson is disappointing there) has put Tuttle there. Fortunately, he has the athleticism and hands to pull it off, and of course he gets a considerable size advantage. And I agree re my advantage at PG with +7 Sr Stockdale against your frosh.

Good luck recruiting this year, too.

yuck! i really don't like all my players on the list and 3 of 4 in the top 26...this is what happens when you don't have time to do extended recruiting. i may change up somethings...

green and coyne are locks!

I dunno, I kind of liked your maxes. Their prefs will garner a lot of attention, but you are a tight fit for three of them. The exception is Barclay - straight Fair prefs. I'm curious how he'll turn out. I'm blocked from work, but is Barclay mentioned on the simboard's max thread? I don't seem to remember him.

The player I like least on your list is Bergeron, but he is a 96% fit for us (using SSC). Pretty much a gimme for a solid player. I agree with you re your PG's: one scorer, one passer, tight fits.

Not looking so good for Cincy. Two of my maxes were Barclay, Montgomery and my fallback is Coyne. Oh well. My other two maxes are Billy Trent and Phillip Cummings (both region 1). Hopefully can snag them and get one random, like Mark Peterson from region 17.

Also, someone mentioned Jayson Arnold - he looked pretty solid in my scrimmage, a bit of a chucker (5-12 from the field, 1-7 from 3), but piled up 2 boards, 5 assists, 5 steals to only two turnovers.

I certainly agree about the game being all about matchups, and i've matched you well until my seniors graduated last season. The only thing i'd change in the game is that I would add another row of options in the "coach my team" page that would allow you to pick who you wanted your players to guard from the opposing team. Would make it more realistic and more coach oriented. Don't know if that's possible cause I have no idea how the site is built ie website design but it would certainly help me this season haha.

awaken, to have a chance i'm going to have to have Stone and Gantt kill it down low and my guards to hit 3's. Only chance I see me having.

I'd probably split Barclay and Montgomery, as each will be a large tie. Monty has a lower Win pref, which favors you. I think most of his suitors will be humans who have winning programs.

I was wondering what you'd do about Coyne, stud PG in your hometown when you need bigs. His Win pref is against you, though. Your other bigs are on my net list (and prob others net list, too), so let us know who you go with.

re Jayson Arnold: I have him being maxed already by someone, and he's G+ Local in R25. Fine player at GGEPPG.

haha...i usually have a lot of optimism for my maxes but i never am able to land them. maybe this is my year!

DaDeacs, you should definitely go for Monty and drop Coyne!

I think I'm going to do a slightly different approach to recruiting this season. Anyone's previous exp with something similar, or thoughts about this approach, are very welcome.

- Max 2 players
- Use avail RPE to extend a set of about 10-12 netters before reveal
- Have another 10-12 base netters with 1RPE or scholly in week 1

If PH's things are close, which im sure they are, I am going to have a tough time landing recruits. All 3 of my recruits (Barclay, Arnold, and Torres) are all projected top 50, so it will be an uphill battle. I am hoping I can land at least one of them, really looking for athletic players in this go-around

Guys, don't get too freaked out about the Top 75. Most years it is ~60% accurate. It's a tool - it's not written in stone. It's accuracy and number of ties diminishes as you go down the list. All it is telling you is you'll probably have competition and about how much. If you're aligned with prefs, you're ok to compete.

Actually, I did exactly that last cycle.

Basically, I maxed 2 guys while using points and schollys to build a wide net. Then as the top 75 was revealed, I bumped those not in it.

It worked pretty well and I had my choice of about 6-7 guys. I did land one of the maxes (cochran) but the other two were from my net.

I'm likely to use this approach again in the future, but I just felt the prefs for Gonzalez and Atkins were to good for me not to risk maxing 4 this go round.

I've done this or something like it. It's success totally hinges on your ability to pick netters. As such, it can be pretty risky. Even then, you'll usually get a deep class of second tier recruits. You can nab an occasional gem that the group overlooks, but I got Justin Wilcox and Isaiah Stockdale from my net while maxing three or more. So it is more in the picking than how many you pick (of course it does increase your odds of just getting lucky).

Thinking and experimenting in this way is a good thing.

Yeah, it's good for knowing the players who will be very high ties, but you can pretty much spot those anyway. It's also good for knowing who probably isn't going to be 0/0. Most of the players on that list will be 1/1 ties. Most of the Top 50 will be 2/2. Honestly, it's better for the net than the maxes.

storm, good breakdown of our game. Looks like I was down 19 at the half and we tried to shoot our way back into it. 8 of the 12 3-point attempts were in the last 10 minutes. Zone probably didn't help.

Right now, I'm trying to figure out if I want to put Sr Adam Cox at PG as a scoring PG or keep him at SF. He scores more at PG and defends as well as Soph pass first shoot never PG Eric Wright. Soph SG Ernest Morin doesn't seem to care which one is at PG. The problem is where does Wright fit in the lineup? If I switch Wright and Cox I'm just moving scoring from SF to PG with no change in defense. My backup PG and SG are pretty solid scorers off the bench, so I can afford to have one backcourt player who doesn't score.
