Anyone know how to tell if a pineapple plant is ripe? We have one and its huge but I can't figure how to tell if there is fruit on it. I've tried googling but websites all give different signs.
 
I keep the heat up and saved most of my $ because I unplug the cable box when I'm not using it

Supposedly they can in nc, it just takes a little longer. You leave them outside in the summer and bring them in once the lows drop to 50. Mtndeac has had this thing for almost two years. I'm ready for a damn pineapple.
