OK TO DO THIS YOU JUST HAVE TO COPY THE TWITTER URL NOW, SHOULD AUTO EMBED ON XF.

It might show as a URL at first, but give it a second to load it up, usually works within a minute.

testing, I think the caveat is that it has to be a public twitter account/allow embedding..

yep, that didn't work.

aight, good to know.

also, best way to get the twitter ID is by clicking on a tweet's timestamp (2h, etc.) link in the top right corner of it's box. Then in the URL of the page that links you too, there is a long number at the end of the address. That's the ID you need to use to embed it.

Can we use the embed tool from twitter or do we have to use the technique above?

NVM, played around with it, the embed tool works but not that well as some of the coding does not translate well to the boards.

Defs can't use the embed tool, straight html/script posting doesn't work in posts (for security reasons).

And yeah, preview posts isn't going to work that well since it has to actually load the JS.

Oh man this is fucking awesome cookout. Good job. Once I spread some rep, more poes for you.

cuz it's javascript, yeahh, so the one weakness of this method. you can blame twitter for that though, it's their widget.

Any way around it? We have a pretty high percentage of tapatalk users right?

welp, can't seem to find the tweet ID

click on the time stamp in the top right of a tweet (something like 2h, 2days, whatever), it'll take you to a page for just that tweet. the id is that long number at the end of the URL.
