"Pai emphasized that his version of the internet won't be any different from what was in place during the the 1990s and until 2015, which he said is what allowed companies like Amazon, Facebook and others to thrive and become the tech titans that they are now."
    Wait, what?

    Different take

Republicans, led by South Dakota Senator John Thune and Oregon Congressman Greg Walden, have offered Democrats what they claim to want in the net neutrality debate – a permanent, legislative solution that prohibits blocking and throttling of Internet traffic.

But their legislation would also prohibit public utility regulation – and the massive taxes and fees that Democrats appear to really be after.

LOL. That’s conservative fear-mongering. The author derived what Democrats want based on what Republicans are saying and doing. He even sites a progressive think tank without acknowledging they’re against what he says Democrats are for as well.

Of course, we would be lucky if internet only went up $67 and $72 a year in the next few years without net neutrality. That money will just be going to the deep pockets of the ISPs.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai has admitted that around 500,000 comments submitted during the net neutrality public comment period were linked to Russian email addresses.

It's Now Clear None of the Supposed Benefits of Killing Net Neutrality Are Real
Network investment is down, layoffs abound, and networks are falling apart. This isn’t the glorious future Ajit Pai promised.

Ehh, I've also seen plenty of articles in industry publications that are less politically motivated/biased that balance spending against big improvement in many networks and substantially increased broadband speeds across the country. I'd like to see some analysis of what is being spent vs what would have been spent under NN laws. The fact that spending is "down" doesn't mean that it wouldn't have otherwise been even lower if NN was still law. Meanwhile, none of the end of days things that the opposition to repeal said would happen have happened either.
