I was going to ask about Benton's, been interested in buying some since watching Mind of a Chef

Have you ordered any?
 
I had my finger on the trigger to place an order for that Benton's bacon, but the delivery charge is as much as the product so I backed out. Bummer.
 
the butcher on my block does house smoked that's the best bacon i've had (better than neuske's but havent had benton's).

Yes but not recently. If you read those articles, he had a small fire recently in his smokehouse. He already has incredible demand, so this has resulted in a 5 week backlog on orders. Better to go try some at a local resto until he sorts it out.

I've always wanted to order a whole smoked ham and shave it like prosciutto to have around for like the holidays or something.
 
Costco Bacon for your ‘basic bacon" is the best. Consumer Reports even rated it #1, also back down to $12.95 for 4 lb packs.

Sort of off topic, but the best restaurant bacon I've ever had is at Karl Strauss Brewery in Carlsbad, CA. They marinate it in some of their beer and put a great pepper-based spice rub on it. It is stupid good.
