That season get's misremembered a lot. It was not some epic sustained collapse to end the season.

It was a rough 4 game stretch in the beginning of February and a 2 game meltdown in the postseason. Way too much weight gets put on those 6 games IMO.

After the Duke win (following the trap loss to VT), Wake went 1-3 with 3 straight road losses. The average ranking of those 4 teams was 62.5 and our point differential over those games was -4.5.

We followed that up by going 6-1 to close the season including 2-1 in road games. The average ranking of those 7 teams was 51.3 and our point differential was + 8.3.

That's not quite the level we were at in January (5-1 (3-0 on the road) Average Opponent Ranking: 26.7; Point Differential: +5.8) but it's not that far off.
