that business about upper montclair vs cedar grove got me thinking. I recall a number of times thinking that Trump voters often voted against their own self-interest, but the blue households in upper montclair clearly did the same (as did I). I think the difference is that it feels (to me) more "noble" to agree to give up tax dollars to benefit our country and our future.....but trump voters probably feel the same way. They might respond, "I'm giving up government benefits because it's not right for the government to give stuff away that people have earned."

50 pct Dems - 48 pct Pubs - 2% Indep for my address. Kind of surprised the independent pct wasn't higher.

    53 percent Democrat - 44 percent Republican - 3 percent Independent. Surprised.

As I understand their stated methodology, many unaffiliated voters were assigned a party based on voting patterns…both theirs and their precinct’s.

So it’s an estimate based on some voting data, not how you and your neighbors are merely registered.

    73% Republican, 19% Democrat, 8% Independent (Me)

It's impossible for a Democrat to win any local city or county wide elections, and my legislative districts, while more competitive, tend to be Republican as well.

92% Dem, 8% Rep. I'm surprised Rep is that high.

    85% D, 7% I and 8% R in the People's Republic of Cville, as it's known in Richmond. Shocking.

Charlotte belongs on a list that has Seattle and Newark as top BBQ cities. I will allow Miami because I bet there is a ton of great barbacoa going on.

I think the bigger takeaway from that map is that you should never use TripAdvisor to find a good restaurant.

Miami isn't known for its Mexican food.

Yeah. Probably a lot of ratings from tourists who are uncritical about BBQ. I'm also curious what qualifies as "BBQ" on TripAdvisor.

Here are some quotes from the "top" BBQ restaurants in Miami.
    https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...i_Florida.html

#2 La Parilla Liberty - Italian, Steakhouse
    “Big Disapointment”

    “Just average”

#6 Hometown Bbq - American, Barbecue

Not Eastern Carolina style but very good”

    “Fake BBQ, overpriced”

    #8 Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

    “You cook the food yourself!”

    “Good value”

#10 Grill Argentino - Latin, Barbecue

“Want to try the worst food in Miami? Come...”

    “YUMMY”

I posted that because I was inspired by RJKarl's list of great Charleston restaurants from TripAdvisor.
