The media talked about Kaymer plenty. Called it historic. Called him dominant. Did backgrounds on his swing changes. His comeback. Talked about how good he is in interviews even thought English is his 2nd language. Fans just weren't into him, and the fact that he's a German playing in the US Open, that he's almost 30 compared to Tiger doing it at 24, their personalities, and their style of play - it's just a terrible comparison.

Agreed. It's the 3rd tournament he has won on US soil. Great golfer, nice guy, but he doesn't move the meter at all. Not the kind of guy you want to run away with a tournament.
