SCOTUS decisions

I think if that happened, especially if it occurred after a huge Trump election loss would trigger the end of the filibuster and court packing by in charge democrats.
 
The rule clearly states that you do not fill a seat in an election year, unless the President is a Republican.

The first thing Biden needs to do in office is to fire about 90% of ICE, Homeland Security and all the other faux national police forces which can too easily be turned into a despot's private police force. Would be a massive step back towards being a democracy.
 
Just get rid of ICE and DHS completely.

Could do away with the department, but not all the functional units. Country needs FEMA or other disaster response organization. Same with Coast Guard, providing safety services for boaters. Also need an entity that inspects stuff at ports of entry. Back to U.S. Customs Service?

DHS didn’t exist 20 years ago and all that stuff got done.

That was part of my point. Many of the parts and pieces that are now part of DHS existed and did their jobs before they were made part of DHS. FEMA was an independent agency. Coast Guard was part of Department of Transportation. Customs was part of Treasury (collection of tariffs on imports). Etc. DHS as a department can go, but the functions need to be done by some agencies or departments.

DHS was created as an over reaction to lack of information sharing post 9/11. It may well be time to look at how well it is serving its intended purpose.
 
Politico reporting cruz and cotton added the the dolt's Supreme Court short list. Clearly he's pandering to his base... right?

I understand why he released a list of potential Supreme Court nominees in 2016 when he wanted to reassure Republican voters who may have thought he was conservative enough. Not sure why he feels the need to do it now when those voters all love him.

Kinda funny that he included guys who clearly want to run for President in four years, though.
 
he's a broken record. He is in a loop of doing the same things over and over. Its why he bankrupted every company he's ever run.
