Nice. I’ve never seen him live bit I wish I could have (and Tony Rice); maybe still time for Dawg since he’s jamming with Del these days. We’re getting the masters to all that Garcia/Grisman stuff, among other things. Pretty sweet.

I have seen Tony Rice bunches since the early 90s. I remember one year they had a backstage bluegrass thing at the hotel at Four Seasons Mall in Greensboro. You could basically sit in small conference rooms and watch The Tony Rice Unit jam. It was awesome.

Damn that does sound awesome. That guy is amazing, shame about the health. I guess he lives in NC now, but mostly keeps to himself.

Kaputt released 9 years ago today. Can confirm it still sounds v good. New Bejar (corrects to Benadryl) on the way.

I thought about what guitars other than Clapton's Brownie had sold for. Of the Top 10, four were his.

I wonder how many of these will hold or increase their value in 25-50 years when no one alive had seen any of them. Could the prototype Strat eclipse the others?

That's pretty cool.

Walter Becker's estate had an auction for his gear a couple of months ago and it was amazing. I forget what the most expensive thing was - maybe the guitar he used on Aja where there's a picture in the liner notes, but it was super cool. If I had a few bucks...

I guess he didn't quite make it to Clapton level, but still, a decent haul.

Think I’m gonna eat a cracker and go see 1917.

Just covering my bases here.

Mance Lipscomb died 44 years ago today, and Lightnin' Hopkins 38 years ago today.

I'm gonna see him when he comes through. I've eaten tickets the last couple of times because I am extraordinarily lazy, but these live sets get me stoked. The Kaputt tour was a great show. I've seen him a few times now, I guess. Bejar.

So glad he's on tour this year. This is from October 2019:

And from earlier this month -
