Autopsy Shows Michael Brown Was Struck at Least 6 Times

The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunpowder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing, to which Dr. Baden did not have access.
He stressed that his information does not assign blame or justify the shooting.

“We need more information; for example, the police should be examining the automobile to see if there is gunshot residue in the police car,” he said.
One of the bullets shattered Mr. Brown’s right eye, traveled through his face, exited his jaw and re-entered his collarbone. The last two shots in the head would have stopped him in his tracks and were likely the last fired.
Dr. Baden said it was unusual for the federal government to conduct a third autopsy, but dueling examinations often occur when there is so much distrust of the authorities. The county of St. Louis has conducted an autopsy, and the results have not yet been released.

He stressed that his examination was not to determine whether the shooting was justified.

“In my capacity as the forensic examiner for the New York State Police, I would say, ‘You’re not supposed to shoot so many times,’ ” said Dr. Baden, who retired from the state police in 2011. “Right now there is too little information to forensically reconstruct the shooting.”

Perhaps you don't care, but Occupy was a pretty big deal fora significant amount of time. The reason it never caught as much of a hold as it could have (as has been stated) is that half the people who were there had no idea why. Fergeson is a singular focused event in which the whole world would sympathize immediately with the protesters. Just because you are a cynic, doesn't mean everyone else is. Nobody cares about Moral Mondays because it is rooted in politics, and that automatically excludes half the country.

This is a clear opportunity because the police is going way over the line again and again. Would be very impactful to have a consolidated non violent protest that drew a stark contrast between the problem (violent police), and the victims (non violent protesters).

That's cute, but plenty of people believe police are inherently good and black people protesting are inherently up to no good.

Now if a pretty blond girl somehow got caught in the crossfire, that may change some minds.

There was a rally at a church. The guy leading the police overseeing the protests was there, and gave a great speech (before arresting journalists later). The tear gas started at, like, 9pm.

How in the fuck did he not file an incident report? It's an officer-involved shooting. Seems like an incident report would be the first thing you do. One would think that is SOP in any PD, even racist ones. What a glaring and inexcusable oversight.

Also, not sure that it's relevant given the totality of the circumstances, but there weren't any shots to his backside. I don't know how that meshes or doesn't mesh with witness accounts.

One livestream of the events featured a cop pulling his gun on a group of reporters and telling them to get the fuck out of here or else "I'll use this on you." Later another cop came up and told everyone to be cool. Needless to say, the reporters weren't happy.

Amnesty International is sending human rights teams to Ferguson. First time the agency has done that in the US

What were babies doing out at 10:00? Especially at a place where dangerous things were likely to happen.

I think any responsible parent would not bring their "baby" any where near a place that has the possibility of turning into a riot...even if it starts off as a peaceful gathering.

The Ferguson PD is such a clusterfuck. The Chief did mention the report during one of his press conferences, but he omitted the pesky detail that Wilson hadn't filed the report. These things can't keep leaking out. When the BART cop shot Oscar Grant in Oakland, he resigned from the force nearly immediately. It's not even clear yet whether Wilson's side was included in the report.

Sometimes peaceful protests can rage out of control.
