Official thread about the movie you just saw

Watched Game Over, Man! last night. It's by no means a good movie, but it's funny and entertaining enough. Word of warning, Adam Devine's dick gets waaaaaay too much screen time.

RIP John Singleton. "Boyz n the Hood" is still one of my favorite movies.

He was entirely too young.

Saw Detective Pikachu with another family. It was fine for what it was. The CGI was excellent. They really made the Pokemon come to life. The kids in the theater were screaming out the name of every Pokemon that came on screen. I liked that instead of doing some dumbass "what if character X was in our world?" set up (see Sonic), they just created a new fantasy world and gave it a little bit of depth. Overall? It was a combination of Zootopia and a PG version of Deadpool.

Some other films I've seen in the last few months.

My parents were in town and wanted me to see Breakthrough with them. It's the latest film geared toward Christian audiences. It was based on a true story of a mom's faith after her son was in a coma and given little chance to live. It was fine for what it was. The budgets for these films have gone up. Good effects. Some recognizable cast members. Kinda weird to see Topher Grace as the young hip new pastor.

Saw Mission Impossible: Fallout on a plane. I really need to go back and watch all of these. I saw this one and the last one. Both were excellent action films. The final action scene was very well done. Tom Cruise is just very good at what he does in these films.

Saw Bumblebee on a plane as well. It was surprisingly excellent. First Transformers film I've seen since I regrettably saw the second. Love that it was set in the 80s. It really captured the feeling of being a kid back then and playing with the Bumblebee toy for the first time. It was really nice. I hope they take that tone in future Transformers films.

Bumblebee was trash. Watched it on the plane and turned it off halfway through. Terrible acting and dialogue, nonsensical plot. No better than any of the other Transformer movies.

Saw John Wick 3 yesterday and thought it was a lot of fun. The killing in these movies just gets more and more absurd and I love it. This was definitely the most deaths of the franchise.

Just watched Wonder Woman on a plane. It sucked. Gal Godot is crazy hot, though.

Also watched Creed 2. Also not very good, and I enjoyed the first one. Takes itself way too seriously. Just dumb.

I think I didn’t like Creed 2 because I mostly hate Tessa Thompson in everything she’s been in.

I also didn’t like what happened to Ivan Drago since the first movie. He deserved better.

Started watching Glass on latest flight... 45 minutes in and it’s pretty good.

Keep in mind that I choose to watch these movies... I knew what I was getting into when they started and they still weren’t good.

Saw John Wick. It was awful. Amateur porn has better storylines and plots. The choreography would have gotten a freshman a D. I'm as graceful as Keanu Reeves. Most corpses have more emotion than Reeves.

The way people were talking about it I thought it could be as good as Boondock Saints (1 or 2) with stylized violence and story. I was wrong.

If you don't care that the entire story of John Wick 3 is meaningless and the movie ends with him in basically the same spot he started, the other stuff is good. So it's basically Game of Thrones Season 8. Shitty writing but nice visuals, sounds, direction, choreography, etc. I walked out of the movie generally satisfied with the action and creative violence/character interplay but it doesn't do much for the overall story of the series.

That does look like it could be fun.

I was thinking about The Hustle, but it seems like no one likes it at all. I figured it was either really, really good or terrible. It seems the latter is more likely. I'll wait until it's on TV.

I enjoyed Glass. The ending was dumb and Bruce Willis kind of sucked, but I enjoyed The Beast and Samuel L.

Started Skyscraper, which I have (less than) zero expectations for... But 30 minutes in it is just fine.

i watched wreck it ralph 2 last night. some OK moments but it was not as good as the first one. the princess sequence was amusing; impressive to get the original actors for each
