BBall Recruiting Thread 2k16- SJM, Washington, Childress & Mitchell sign NLIs; 2017?

He's made one Sweet 16 at UVA. That was as a #1 Seed and lost.
Small sample size, but there's no point in getting into that with you.

Even after winning the ACC and being a #1 Seed, only two Top 25 ESPN list UVA (one doesn't have an offer and Kobi Simmons).
There are other ways of winning than with a team of freshman burger boys, RJ. A team of 4-year guys ranked in the 50-100 range coupled with an excellent defensive coach can be very successful and make deep postseason runs.

They are the favorites for a few 2016 recruits ranked in that ~50-100 range.

To say at this very moment we're in a better position going forward than UVA is pretty extreme, but fair nuff.

Tempo is how quickly you play. How often you shoot. How often you score.

Tony is really good at fitting players into his scheme. He will get the most out of players. I think we should get better players.

Mods, is it possible to have a thread that eventually just becomes automated, reposting everyone's comments on a continuous loop, except for RJ who can just keep posting into eternity. We can title it the Hamster Wheel and regardless of what thread RJ clicks on he's directed there.

Probably the best idea ever presented on here.

Skip's theory

Exactly.

We had a four year disaster. For many years before that, Wake attracted many top players. We can do it again.

Skip's attitude that we can get the top guys has been proven. Now we have a coach who expects those kinds of results.

We're going to be good again.

So who's visiting this weekend? Bryant Crawford will be here. Will Doral Moore and John Collins be here as well? 2016 guys? 2017?

Since Bennett went to UVA, Wisconsin has been significantly slower on offense than UVA. And they were within a bucket of a national championship last year.

Last year, Wisconsin scored 10% more ppg than UVA while shooting virtually the same shooting percentages. To do this you must play appreciably faster.

P.S. I wouldn't be shocked to see Bennett replace Ryan in a few years.

You can also turn it over a lot less, or make a lot more 3's, which is exactly what Wisconsin did. To be fair, Wisconsin did average 3 more possessions per game than UVA did last season.

Wisconsin's average offensive possession length: 20.5 seconds, UVA's average offensive possession length: 19.8 seconds. Nationwide average 18.0 seconds.

UVA does make teams take forever to shoot against them though. But that's pretty much universally accepted as a good thing: the top 3 teams out of all 350 teams in opposition possession length last year were Syracuse, Florida and Arizona.

The NCAA is looking to speed up the game through multiple rule changes. They want a faster pace and more scoring. Times they are a changin'.

Overall WI took over 3 shots per game more than UVA did. They also took marginally more FTs. This means their tempo was quicker.

Only cause they allow teams to shoot quicker against their defense (which isn't good). On offense they are slower.

This is a good question, but it might be better suited for some sort of thread dedicated to recruiting news and analysis.
