Heads up: Potential government shutdown

No, your Democratic friends are planning to blame it all on the GOP. Senator Sessions has a few words about that.

I will not be voting for the bill…. They cobble the entire funding of the United States together in one omnibus bill, bring it up at the last minute and say, if you don’t agree to vote it out without getting any amendments, why, we’ll accuse you of shutting the government down. We’ll accuse you of shutting the government down. It’s all your fault. And for some reason, our friends in the media seem to think that’s true. And if anybody has the gumption to stand up to this abuse of process, they’re shutting the government down. What planet are we on here?

So if the Democrats aren't shutting down the government who is?

if the UK started including dental its costs would rise dramatically

Next deadline is Friday. What do you think happens:

1) Long term funding agreement
2) Another three week continuing resolution
3) The first ever government shutdown when one party has control of the WH and Congress

Seems like another short term CR is the most likely, but the right-wing crazies in Congress are going to get annoyed at some point that they keep getting asked to vote for this.

The chances of a government shutdown are growing

It’ll either be a CR or a deal. Dems have all of the leverage though so they’re going to want a sweet deal if they’re going to bail out the establishment.

I can’t see a shutdown happening, it’s too dumb, even for the GOP.

Trump Upsets Republican Strategy to Avoid Shutdown

But by midday Thursday, the chances of a shutdown appeared to be rising — a shutdown that would hit a year to the day after Mr. Trump took office. Efforts to negotiate a broader budget deal that would protect young undocumented immigrants, raise spending for military and domestic programs and fund children’s health care had been making progress until Mr. Trump referred to African nations as “shithole countries” last week. The ensuing uproar upended budget and immigration talks and emboldened Democrats. On Thursday, senior House Democrats introduced a resolution to censure the president for his words.

i have an answer...pennies, get rid of them.

PENNIES
Money wasted: $82 million+
A penny costs more to make than it's worth, and that's been the case for twelve years and counting. Still, in 2016 the U.S. Mint wasted $46 billion by issuing pennies at a production cost of 1.5 cents apiece. The nation's annual loss is closely related to global metal prices, which reached their peak in 2011, when pennies cost 2.41 cents apiece.

in order to get rid of pennies we need more inflation, let's turn the dollar into monopoly money, no pennies in monopoly money

Seems like the more efficient plan would be to coax pennies back into circulation. They're just sitting around.

That floor could be worth dollars!
