Heads up: Potential government shutdown

sailor is so right. It's not essential to see how a foreign adversary has infiltrated our government and elections. Let's give Putin access to local voting machines. Let's put Trump's Russian mob bodies on the federal bench.

Member of Trump admin is on MSNBC complaining that a funding bill should have passed last September.

They didn't pass a long term bill last September because Trump took Schumer's offer of a three month bill.

The art of the deal.

I hope Duckworth runs for president if only to see how conservatives attack, mock, and demean a Purple Heart recipient.

And to hear her call Donald Cadet Bone Spurs.

Saw something from a vet that made me chuckle. She probably wanted to use Captain Bone Spurs but didn't want to demean the rank.

They already did that with Max Cleland back in their “less crazy” days.

Oh, yeah. Cleland, who had lost both legs in the Vietnam War and was confined to a wheelchair, was attacked as a bleeding-heart liberal who was weak on national defense and fighting terrorism by Republican Saxby Chambliss, who had received several student deferments during the Vietnam War and one deferment for bad knees due to a football injury. Chambliss won, of course, and joined a distinguished group of GOP hawks who managed to avoid Vietnam service, among them Limbaugh, O'Reilly, George W. Bush, Trump, etc.

Will they go with “Crippled Tammy” or something more subtle?

Republicans love talkers more than doers. Talk about military service. Vote for people who ducked it. Talk about bootstraps. Vote for rich kids and vote against people who grew up poor.

After Vowing to Fix Washington, Trump Is Mired in a Familiar Crisis

On Saturday, the president was left alternately defiant and angry, self-pitying and frustrated. He argued to aides that he did not deserve the blame he was taking, but without a credible deal on the table, there was little for him to do. Irritated to have missed his big event in Florida, Mr. Trump spent much of his day watching old TV clips of him berating President Barack Obama for a lack of leadership during the 2013 government shutdown, a White House aide said, seeming content to sit back and watch the show.

That's a good point. What kind of classless asshole wears a baseball cap in the Oval Office?
