gonna go all el chupe here but i had a totally transcendent experience with box of rain back early in college

all good music festival which is on a mountain top in west virginia

the weekend had already been otherworldly, slugging shine in the woods with the avett bros, sitting around a fire with guitars and good grass, just an outstanding weekend in the prime of my life

anyway so phil and friends were closing the festival down and right as their set was finishing the sky went completely black and the heavens just opened up with an insane downpour and they busted out box of rain with a superjam of some of the festival's big names, del mccoury, scofield and MMW, warren, it was outstanding

'grass' lol

I really want to believe this is serious

Sam's Town is pretty damn good. Great, even. Almost made my list, but then again, so did The Headless Children by WASP.

And bringing up The Killers made me realize I forgot Born To Run as well.

3 and 4 are pretty close. I think 4 has slightly stronger tracks top to bottom.

imho, 4 > 3. 8 tracks. All killer. Only weakness on 4 is four sticks, and the last two tracks of 3 are lesser songs.

It could be argued that I-IV are all perfect rock records. Led Zep is really really good.

Arguing over which of the first 6 Zep albums are the best is kind of like a gaggle of porn stars arguing over whose dick is biggest. I didn't even think of listing groups like Led Zep or The Beatles or 69-75 era Stones because it's kind of a given that their output fits the bill.

Notorious BIG-Ready to Die
James Carr-You Got My Mind Messed Up
Townes Van Zandt-Rear View Mirror(It's a live recording so I'm not sure if it meets the criteria or not, but it perfectly encapsulates what Townes' music was, much more so than his overproduced studio albums)
Prince-Purple Rain
Curtis Mayfield-Superfly
Otis Redding-Otis Blue

Also ditto on LCD Soundsytem and Astral Weeks

Yes to this. I also know it sounds like an easy answer but the White Album is nearly perfect to me.

Plenty that I agree with on here. I would submit:

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Pink Floyd - Animals
