Hmm, this seems familiar.

The post-Trump right has a style as distinctive as its authoritarian substance: trolling, ironic, evasive. It expresses itself in rhetorical questions, in false alternatives, in sleights of phrase, in mocking deflections. It does not openly declare its intentions, in part because it does not dare to—and in part because it itself does not yet fully know. Those of us who have walked away from this betrayal of our earlier beliefs can discern the resemblance to the fascism of the last century. But those heading toward the new destination do not see so clearly, distracted as they are by the wisecracks that they are tweeting as they trudge.

Now why would anyone see this and conclude that systematic racism still exists in America, or that perhaps it is something that needs to be taught in schools?

No, this isn't another right-wing political commercial. It's a wine commercial - for "We the People" wine. As one reply joked "I wonder if they only sell white."

 
It’s always annoying when the actions of the most public Republicans are treated as some fringe movement instead of a clear demonstration of either where the elites want to steer the party or how elites are trying to appeal to their base. It’s a sign of things to come.
 
Now I wonder who "traditional classic Americans" could be? And those good folks are being "drowned" by immigrants brought in by evil LibDems for the purpose of "replacing" them? Fox isn't holding much back these days. They could just start advertising themselves as the "News Channel for White Real America" and nobody would blink.

 
Newt was on the cutting edge of the destruction of America and gop politics. No more policy. Just grift, grievance, and fear to accumulate and retain power.

Apparently he got a lot of flack for this and has backed off and claimed it was only "satire" and that he was just trolling liberals. Yeah, it's just hilarious. Hugh Hewitt has repeatedly had this guy as a guest host on his radio talk show - Hewitt is one of the smug right-wing pundits who is a regular panelist on Chuck Todd's Meet the Press. Shows you just how far to the right even "mainstream" conservative media has drifted.
