The Onion’s Matt Gaetz stuff is fantastic.
man Q has really been failing at its primary mission lately
Apparently Gaetz's wingman, Greenberg may be entering into a plea bargain agreement https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/08/polit...etz/index.html
I wonder if the RNC will let Gaetz be its chairman from federal prison.
Fucking idiots left their Venmo feeds public.

In two late-night Venmo transactions in May 2018, Rep. Matt Gaetz sent his friend, the accused sex trafficker Joel Greenberg, $900. The next morning, over the course of eight minutes, Greenberg used the same app to send three young women varying sums of money. In total, the transactions amounted to $900.
The memo field for the first of Gaetz’s transactions to Greenberg was titled “Test.” In the second, the Florida GOP congressman wrote “hit up ___.” But instead of a blank, Gaetz wrote a nickname for one of the recipients. (The Daily Beast is not sharing that nickname because the teenager had only turned 18 less than six months before.) When Greenberg then made his Venmo payments to these three young women, he described the money as being for “Tuition,” “School,” and “School.”
Oh, no doubt. It was no real surprise that the 1/6 attack took place, given everything we've seen and heard from Trumpites and Republicans generally since at least 2016 (really dating back to the 90s). I don't think there's much doubt that we'll see something similar within the next few years, and it will likely be even larger, much more violent, and centered on either DC again or maybe a state capitol somewhere. A good many Trumpites were privately thrilled by 1/6, and their only disappointment was that it wasn't even more destructive. A lot of Trump's base just want to burn it all down and start over, preferably with people like them controlling everything with the restart.
The Brooks Brother Riot was a precursor to Jan 6. It’s not hard to imagine something in between happening at a state or local election office in the aftermath of a close election.
As long as Republicans can get away with the cycle of fomenting hate, feigning outrage at the violence, then blaming the libs, nothing is going to stop.
So much for the notion of J.D. Vance of Hillbilly Elegy fame as some kind of eloquent, thoughtful and reasonable voice and guide to Trump's rural white supporters. Not that everyone fell for it, but a good number of East Coast media and establishment types did. Interesting what running in a GOP Senate primary in Ohio will do to a man.
