And most of that jump probably came from the coveted 18-34 age segment (who aren’t as big of Nike fans as those who grew up in the 80s/90s).

Not just him, it's a common argument I've heard for the past two years from many Trumpites: the reason Trump was elected was all the LibDem's fault. Voters like themselves might have voted Democratic (yeah, right), but when the LibDems nominated Hillary it left them with "no choice" but to support a horrifically flawed reality-tv show star with a long, long history of racist, erratic, and failed/con artist beliefs, statements, and behavior. Never mind that this argument ignores the fact that Trump defeated a very large pool of GOP opponents for the Republican nomination (Hillary wasn't a factor there), or that these supposedly reluctant "no other choice" Trump voters have blindly and enthusiastically supported him 100% since he was elected, nor that all of them have said they'll gladly support him again in 2020, even though Hillary won't be on the ballot. For a party that claims to support personal responsibility for one's actions, they certainly seem intent on passing the buck and not accepting responsibility for voting for Trump, and for loyally sticking to him like glue since his election.
