Ongoing US GOP Debacle Thread: Seditious Republicans march toward authoritarianism

Trump has tweeted that he's going to do an Executive Order to put the citizenship question on the census. If he does this, he will effectively be making himself the Dear Leader and not POTUS.

President Obama wears a tan suit and doesn't have a US flag lapel, Michelle goes sleeveless a few times, and conservatives lose their freaking minds. Meanwhile, one of their own admits to child sex abuse, and a former GOP Congressman defends him as "a good Christian man" and that God has forgiven him, that he shouldn't be expelled from the legislature, that a lot of people have done the same, and says that if Byrd is expelled for child abuse, so should the state's Republican governor. And he said all this about a self-confessed child molester. Republicans can simply do no wrong, Democrats can do no right. Why? Republicans are all good conservative Christians and Real Americans, you know.

There must be something different about the Obamas that causes such outrage. I wonder what it could be...

Why should TN be any different than the House? The GOP is making Jim Jordan into one of their biggest stars. He covered up dozens (if not hundreds) of sexual assaults while coaching at Ohio State. Five of his wrestlers have come forward to say they told him about the attacks. The coach who did the attacks committed suicide rather than going to trial.

How the fuck the Dems haven't forced him out is beyond comprehension. The Dems have no guts and are guilty of helping him continue to serve and cover up those heinous acts.

What’s funny is the “MSM” gives these people so much airtime then they complain that the “MSM is working overdrive against Trump.”

No one can change these people. When she denies basic facts (5th Avenue quote) there’s no point going further. I have family like this. Rather than give an inch and admit a singular fault in the man, they dig their heels in to the detriment of their own integrity. It’s hero worship to the Nth degree. There’s no reasoning.

It's almost like Republicans are just full of shit.

Seems like they're opening embracing hacks and not even trying to keep them at arm's length.

The mission of the Claremont Institute is to restore the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life.
[h=2]Overview[/h] To return to limited government, conservatives must return to the principles of the American Founding. The Claremont Institute provides the missing argument in the battle to win public sentiment by teaching and promoting the philosophical reasoning that is the foundation of limited government and the statesmanship required to bring that reasoning into practice.

[h=2]Who We Are[/h] We are a think tank that teaches, writes, and litigates. Since our founding in 1979, our strategy has been to teach the principles of the American Founding to the future thinkers and statesmen of America. Those principles include the foundational doctrines of natural rights and natural law found in the Declaration of Independence; the ingenious political science of the Constitution; and the popular constitutionalism or reverence necessary for the maintenance of free government.
