Ongoing US GOP Debacle Thread: Seditious Republicans march toward authoritarianism

The same Russian spy that infiltrated the White House (per the pic posted by PhDeac)?

Wait...just found it

You’d think they’d be mad about a spy sent to infiltrate the NRA and GOP.

She did apparently sleep with some of them, so at least they got to use that viagra they keep on hand in the desk drawer.

That’s fair. Sleeping with a hot Russian spy is a pretty sweet fantasy and they got two out of three.

Butina wasn't at that meeting. This is a photo of when the newly elected Manchurian Candidate invited the Russian ambassador into the Oval Office to celebrate the downfall of America.

Not to mention "not filing the right paperwork" is in a sense what we are proudly detaining thousands of migrants for.

Arizona Republican charged for running a multi-state baby mill by importing pregnant women from the Marshall Islands, taking their Medicaid benefits, and selling the babies to adoption agencies. He originally made his connections in the Marshall Islands during his Mormon mission trips there.

For the record, here's a Fox News story that outlines the charges in detail but does not once mention that he's a Republican.

but but Ralph Northam!!!

It's now frequently said that the two parties live in alternate universes. Reading all the news stories about the growing Ukrainian scandal, Trump selling out our Kurdish allies, and the seemingly endless series of scandals/crap like the one above, it's not hard to believe that Republicans watching the famous movie series of the past few decades would see the villains as the real good guys to be emulated. Darth Sidious, Thanos, Lord Voldemort, President Snow, Sauron and Saruman, etc. are probably all seen as misunderstood heroes by present-day Republicans.

ETA: They were all just victims of fake news and the Deep States of their day.

That's why Fox News leaves out the party of a human trafficking politician but hyperventilates about any small thing Democrats do.

Thought I'd check the latest RCP polling average for Trump today, and it's not good for him. He's dropped about 4 or 5 points in his overall job approval average since the impeachment inquiry started, from 8 points underwater to over 13. I was struck by the most recent Rasmussen poll. It's a GOP polling firm, and has consistently given Trump his highest job approval ratings by far (it's virtually the only polling outfit to place him at over 50% job approval at times.) Right now, though, it has him at 43% approval to 56% disapproval, which is his worst showing in that poll in months. If you're polling that poorly for Rasmussen, you're in trouble, imo.

Can't find this tweet, but he appparently once said that Hilary should be shot for treason.

When you think about it, he actually is a perfect state chairman for Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if most of his state chairmen or chairwomen have similar views, even if not publicly expressed. David Duke could easily be his LA chairman, for example.
