Ongoing US GOP Debacle Thread: Seditious Republicans march toward authoritarianism

I for one am glad the modern gop is not in favor of activist judges.

So "rugged individualism" really means "I can be a selfish whiner" to the tough men of the 21st century.

All the gripes of the far (and medium, really) right are expressions of selfishness. Their positions on immigration, environment, healthcare, economy, and religion are grounded in fear of something being taken away from them - not for their own or the nation's best interests.

It's fucking stupid

+1. And the GOP (especially the Trumpite wing) has learned how to play these people perfectly, and feed those fears of things being taken away. It's like a well-oiled propaganda machine at this point.

I want to go out to bars too, and my work is taking a hit and my salary has been decreased by 10% by this Covid shit, but goddamn I can take myself and my wants/needs out of my decision-making process.

Some people don't like me, the same ones who call my neighbors white privileged fascists because they enjoy firearms, attend church and don’t step over the homeless to drink $6 lattes every morning (that's you Portland). Get yourself together, your embarrassing us.

Democrat history is pro-slavery, pro-KKK, anti women's suffrage, etc. You shouldn't be surprised that todays Democrats want gun confiscation, socialism and legally enforced random pronoun usage. We deserve explanations but between using arbitrary pronouns and not knowing what "food" means they are obviously struggling with words.

Italics mine. Struggling with words and random pronoun usage, indeed.

This dude could be the perfect Republican candidate in almost any part of the country. His platform is one that 90% plus of Republicans agree with, at least privately. For example, it fits perfectly that his positive proposals are nearly all vague and little more than conservative cliches ("be fiscally and socially responsible"), while the great bulk of what he's clearly worked up about consists of just opposing whatever Democrats want and bitching and moaning about them. His platform is about owning the libs ("admit that you steal from unborn babies!"), not actually implementing any kind of coherent or specific conservative agenda (unless "turning your will over to God" and being "ready for God's divine intervention" qualifies as a practical policy proposal).

Sorry to nit pick but there is no Trumpite wing of the GOP. Trumpism is the GOP, through and through.

It’s even on brand to copy paste the email toward that is that 12 step program variation complete with the lazy incomplete writing at the end of his “policy”.

WHAT DID THEY KNOW?

WHAT DID THEY KNOW?

Right-wing news sites (including Fox) are all over this today. They clearly see this as their next BENGHAZI! or Hillary's Emails! scandal that they can use in the campaign. That they can bring Obama into it somehow is just the icing on the cake. See - we knew that Obama was dirty too! The traitor!

If the chair of the GOP is spreading Trump propaganda and talking points, is it fair to say that the GOP is now the party of Trump? Asking for jh

Didn’t we learn during the impeachment that anything the president does is legal, including and especially investigating political rivals?

I'm officially done respecting anyone who still has loyalty to Trump's GOP. Fuck them all, even my relatives.

They are either bad or deranged people. There is nowhere to hide. Fiscal conservatism, especially, is dead.

I told my wife that about her mom, I was like one mistake vote I can get past but 4 years of this shit if you go and pull the lever for that man again I am done, you are out of my life.

It's only going to get worse as people continue to die, lose their jobs, and poll number ti k down for these pos a holes.
