Excellent read. Stevens had an op-ed in I think the Post recently as well. Glad people are coming to grips with this.

So she's a woman who believes that women shouldn't hold public office, but nonetheless took a public office appointment so she can defend traditional Christian beliefs against "radical anti-Christian leftists like Cory Booker" <snort>, and her appointment comes from a twice-divorced man currently on his third trophy wife who almost never goes to church, brags that he has cheated on all three of his wives, brags about sexually assaulting women, and leads an administration that is morally and ethically depraved in just about every way you can imagine. Makes sense.

What sort of person looks at Jacob Wohl's last few years of work and thinks "that guy's an asset"? If you need someone to spread disinformation, just go with James O'Keefe/Project Veritas.

That picture reminds me of one I saw in an article several years ago on a failed "Latino outreach" program the California GOP did a number of years ago to try and win over California Hispanics who have helped turn California dark blue over the past couple of decades. As the article noted, the effort was half-hearted, and greeted with immense grumbling and reluctance from California whites who dominated (and still do) the California GOP. The photo showed a community center with GOP signs welcoming Latinos, but they were mostly in English, not Spanish, and nearly all of the people in attendance were older whites, with few Latinos. Some of the attendees who were interviewed said that English should be made the official language in California, and lamented that the GOP was no longer competitive in statewide politics. Just a disconnect from reality.

As assistant secretary of State, he testified that the United States was not involved in such a plot, despite being well aware of architect Oliver North’s efforts to resupply the brutal paramilitaries; in 1991 he was convicted of two counts of withholding evidence. (For observers new to the scandal that consider it a product of a bygone era, the attorney general who cheer-led the pardoning of Abrams and four others involved in the affair is William Barr, who holds the same position today.)
