Yo deacsats, did you take the bills moneyline today?

The books raked in the cash on teasers this weekend with Vikings, Jags, Pats losing outright as large favorites. FWIW, the public was big on the Chiefs and the Rams this weekend and they continued to kick butt.

Bucs or Steelers tonight. Basically a Pick'em. Does the Fitzmagic continue, or do the Steelers start to right their ship in Tampa? After an even weekend, like the sucker I am, I'm looking to make a big splash tonight.

I'm leaning Pittsburgh because I don't believe the Bucs can hold to form.

Don’t mess with it.

Before the season, the number on tonight's game was the Steelers minus 4 (prior to the season, Vegas will release lines on marquee games, including Monday night games). Now it's a pick (total 54). The value is with the Steelers and they are desperate, but Steelers are a total mess right nowl and Bucs are rolling. Don't like the game, but hope the Bucs win.

I am also staying away from tonight's game... Had to pick it (ATS) for a weekly pool I'm in. I went with Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is usually a team I fade on the road, but I also feel like TB is notorious for shitting the bed in higher profile games like this. Just seems like good value to take the Steelers, and that is rare.

so uhhhh rice +25.5 @ wake seems like a pretty bet.........?

It opened at -24.5 and is up to -26.5 a couple of places.

It's not like Rice has a lot of avid followers that automatically drop a bet on the Owls each week (like ND). Line moves on a non-public game like this mean that pro players are taking WF. Then again, pro players liked WF against ND, and ND dominated. Kind of lost in the last two defensive meltdowns is that WF scored more points on BC and ND than any of their other opponents. In particular, WF was able to run the ball on both teams and Rice's run D sucks. That said, Towson scored 20 and gained more than 400 yards on WF's defense. If Rice can get to the low 20s, WF would need to drop 50 on Rice to cover. That's a lot of points.

I got the feeling a couple of whales bet Wake early to move the line down before they really pound ND (it did go back up). They also absolutely killed the O/U moving it 5+ points.

I was listening to VSIN last Saturday morning, and they had the manager of the South Point Casino Sportsbook, and he said the sharps were "all over WF" against ND. Maybe, it was BS, but the line did drop before kickoff. There were a lot of trends favoring WF heading into that game, but there are no locks in sports betting.

Interesting stat on ESPN, before the Bills/Vikings game, the previous 24 teams that were favored by 17 or more had won.

Heard some weird stat cutting against the Vikings tonight that went something like the last 8 teams to fly more than two time zones to play a Thursday night game failed to cover. Dig deep enough and you can find a stat that may fall certain way not based upon a determinative factor, but serendipity. Find it hard to believe that the Vikings ability to play well tonight will be attributable to the fact that their plane flew to LA (PDT) rather than Denver (MDT).

Yeah, I go back and forth between the Vikings being fired up to play this game tonight and the Vikings laying an egg because of the travel & quick turnaround.

But 7 points seems like a lot... Lean Vikings, but probably not playing it.

Week 5:

Northwestern +14.5
Pitt +13
Miss St. -7
Tennessee/UGA Under 53
Cal +1.5 (this game opened at Cal +3; EVERY handicapper seems to be on Cal; just a perfect spot; Oregon is off a gut-wrenching loss; Cal is off a BYE; Cal has had some deceiving results; all that said when so many factors line up on one side, something crazy often happens)

I also lean to UVA +6. UVA has been under the radar, but Mendenhall is a solid coach, and Bryce Perkins is a dual threat weapon.
