"A Nashville jury on Tuesday convicted two former Vanderbilt football players of raping a fellow student in 2013. After weeks of testimony the jury took three hours to deliver a guilty verdict, rejecting the argument, as the Associated Press puts it, “[the players] were too drunk to know what they were doing and that a college culture of binge drinking and promiscuous sex should be blamed for the attack.”

I'm not a lawyer, but that argument is ridiculous, right?

Two other players are still awaiting trial.

If that was the defense, not too surprising the jury made short work of it.

Odd defense. Would guess that similar situations (drunk/passed out victim and drunk perp) rarely see the light of a courtroom. In this case, there was video which turned a difficult/impossible prosecution out into a slam dunk. One of the two convicted never touched/penetrated the victim, but there is video of him encouraging the other to violate her.

Will be interested to see what the sentence is.

So when are these convicted football players transferring to Louisville?
 
Why did they split the trials up?
