John Stewart Leaving the Daily Show

This. It seems like exactly the thing government should just do. Probably why it isn’t happening. Also props to John Stewart for being a great guy, I grew up loving his show and I get more confirmation that that was a good decision.

Lighten up Francis. No one disputes that the issue is important. What was out of line, or misinformed at least, was ranting about empty seats at a fully attended subcommittee meeting. Ranting about overall Congressional inaction, sure they deserve all the ranting anyone can muster.

The majority of the rant was about how it took NYC emergency services 5 secs to respond on 9/11 and 18 years later Congress was still dragging it’s feet to take care of them.

Not following you at all. How was he out of line? Why is this still in a subcommittee anyway? The actually committee couldn't be bothered to attend what they had to know would be a media circus? Why the fuck are we even discussing Stewart's delivery as "out of line" instead of the complete disservice that our government has done to these men and women.
