Chicago Cubs Thread - Playoff Push Pending

I think I just quoted the 182. Don't care enough to go back and look if I had a typo though (just enough to respond)

Arrieta with the start tonight. Hoping he does similarly to his first start

I am a bit scared of the Red offense, when they are kicking, Hamilton/Votto/Phillips/Frazier/Bruce/Byrd is a tough 6 outs

Also, 3 more days until Bryant can be promoted - will be interesting to see what Theo does. If Olt and La Stella still aren't fully healed, have to imagine he comes up immediately - and Coghlan is playing like he wants to keep his full time gig in the OF.

I would actually like to see them move Cogs to CF, let Bryant shift to left, Olt start at 3B and have Mendy be the super sub at all 3 OF spots, 2B, SS and 3B.

Wish I could get these to embed, but oh whale.

Also, Jon Lester is very Matt Garza-ish - how are you lefthanded and can't make this throw?

I hear uecker saying "juuuuust a bit outside" when I watch this.

Yeah something has to be done about his throws. We can only have Ross throw to first after pitches so often.

Bryant has 2 hrs and 7 rbis in AAA through the weekend. It will be interesting to see if we call him up the first chance we get (I believe that is Friday against the Friars).

I watched last nights game via the Reds network. In discussing the potential of the Cubs both announcers (and the Reds brass) felt that Coghlan has returned to his 2009 ROY performance level. They stressed he looked like the player who had 162 hits in 128 games against both lefties and righties but with more power. Their appraisal was based on his play of last year and this year. Felt like he will be a difference maker for the Cubs this year, especially to help Rizzo balance the RH power potential of the Cub lineup.

How can a lefty be that inept at holding runners on? Bizarre.

Just a guess. Bryant will join Cubs on Monday April 20, 2015 in Pittsburgh. Any other opinions?

If there are any baseball gods, they will let us torch Kevin Gregg here - he deserves it.

Also, Maddon just put in 3 straight pinch hitters - not sure I have ever seen that without a pitching change.
