Chicago Cubs Thread - Playoff Push Pending

Cubs called up Yoervis Medina (guy they traded beef for) and activated Neil Ramirez today - more pen help. I think they have like 34 guys on the active roster now.
 
Baez looks like a different player. His AB's look much better and he has shown the glove twice tonight.
 
Getting out of the inning finally was huge - still have a three run lead just need to play like it. Six more outs.
 
This team has been completely averse to pressure all year. Long may it continue
 
Cubs hold on to defeat the Cards 8-5. Hammel with a quality start to gain his eighth win. Richard, Rodney and Rondon do the job out of the bullpen. Grimm and Srop not so much. Castro with a HR, double, walk, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI's. Rizzo with a HR, single and 3 RBI's. Baez and Jackson with two hits each.
 
Man, we keep putting men on base and racking up the pitches for Martinez, but having a tough time bringing the dudes in - getting to the bullpen is not really a good thing with the Cards.
 
Cubs leave two more runners on in the 5th - having Ross and Lester hit back to back is tough. Both have hits today, but still.
 
Squandered opportunities. My thought at the end of the first inning was that Lester would need to bring us home to win today. Still feel that way.
 
Schwarber with a Golden Sombrero in 6 innings so far - has a good chance for the Platinum with the way he is swinging
