how much more rezzed can they make Skyrim on that old engine? or are they beta-launching the TES6 engine with Super Skyim Fighter 2 Turbo?

2022 NCAA Football Maybe

The NCAA will consider how the current rules can be modified to allow athletes to be compensated for their names, images and likenesses

On a whim, I started playing Bioshock for the first time in several years, though it is my first time with the remastered version. You know what? It is still one of my favorites of all time and totally holds up. What a great game.

I recently played the first episode of the Fate of Atlantic DLC for AC:Odyssey and it is my favorite part of the game. Elysium was an interesting location to explore with some interesting new mechanics, including a bunch of verticality and a new method of fast(er) traveling for short/medium distances. The multiple arcs of competing story-lines worked really well while giving the player plenty of choices in siding with one person/group or another numerous times throughout, and you can see that your choices having a big impact on how the story progresses and ultimately ends. There is one type of side-quest that does get repetitive but otherwise, the storyline is good and it felt like a new game versus simply adding more content to the Greek map of the normal Odyssey timeline.

EA is “very interested” in bringing back NCAA Football. Here’s a good article with interviews with former cover athletes. They got paid around $50K to be on the cover. Of course that was after they left college.

One angle I haven’t seen mentioned is eSports. How much revenue could the NCAA and member institutions generate from eSports leagues and tournaments that wasn’t available six years ago? Could they get exclusive rights to host NCAA Football and March Madness eSports leagues? Could they have an NCAA streaming platform for their games that could possibly be an approved revenue stream for NCAA athletes?

I really don’t know. I do know there’s much more potential money on the table than before.

Does that mean I get back pay when they used a picture of me in one of the NCAA football games?

so, i'll eat a little crow re: Red Dead 2. After putting in ???? hours and making through most of Chapter 4 I find myself enjoying the game quite a bit for what it is. I still think it's a bit thin between 'missions' and it's nice that the missions themselves are rarely cookie cutter fetch/escort type quests (like in AC, for example.) I wish the guns mattered more, i wish there were more differences between horses. It's also kind of dumb that you can't even upgrade all your stuff until you get into the epilogue, b/c of some of the animals aren't in the main-story areas of the map (yes, you can travel into New Austin but good luck surviving a trip down and back with all your skins/animals).

I still think the game has terrible design with too many things actively working against the experience as fun as it should be but i admit i'm hoping Rockstar will put out some single player DLC.

This is a longer read but really nails down why the game kinda sucks even it is a technical marvel and fun if you decide to just put up with the interface

Does anyone play Hearts of Iron IV? Just got into it and it's incredible. the game i always wanted Civ to be, minus the exploration

I bought it, it's one of the dozens of games on Steam with the "Install" button beside it. After reading the description it looks ideal for me so I put it on my Steam watch list and it went on a good sale so I bought it. I just haven't played it. Yet.

Civ VI has really bummed me out. I just can't get into it. Full disclosure - I haven't bought the latest update. History shows that the updates are when a Civ version begins to shine.

So Microsoft is promoting Game Pass Ultimate for Xbox by charging $1 for the first month. To add some incentive, converting to Game Pass Ultimate upgrades whatever you have left for Xbox Live prepaid. Which means you can go to Amazon or buy a couple discounted Xbox Live codes, extend through 2022, and for $1 you get 36 months of Game Pass Ultimate.

Assuming you're going to stick with Xbox Live anyway, it's a pretty ridiculous deal even if you don't play that many games.

Though i'd resurrect this thread to recommend Moonlighter for Switch. Pixel dungeon-crawler a la zelda 1 with a good game loop. Grind dungeons for stuff that you take back and sell at a shop w/ a little shopkeeping mechanic to afford upgrades that let you explore further into dungeons.

Ahh yeah, I've had this on my list for awhile, looks pretty good. (It's on PC too, but seems like a good game for Switch)

The Switch is a great machine. Nintendo finally figured out a near perfect blend of handheld and console. Wish they had a Switch version of Wii Sports Resort. We still play that after 10 years.
