Ain't played nobody, PAWL!
I’m sure originalists and their consistent beliefs are very happy with this result in Kansas. The states decided.
Does it really matter? I worry people in red states feel like they can vote on this individual measure then still vote for their right wing nutjob candidate to protect the rest of their “conservative” values.
Kansas asks the citizens to decide the abortion debate. With 89% of the vote tabulated, abortion rights are winning 63% to 37%.
This is the procedure to restore the right of women to decide what is best for themselves in every state. Take the matter directly to the citizens. Pro choice supporters should bring this matter to a vote in every state in the union. Let the people decide. Not judges. Not legislators. The people.
Supporters of the measure, who have received much of their funding from the Roman Catholic Church, have emphasized in their advertising that the amendment itself would not outlaw abortion. “It doesn’t ban abortion or remove exceptions — that’s just a scare tactic,” Mayor Peggy Dunn of Leawood, Kan., says in one oft-aired TV spot funded by Value Them Both, a group leading the vote-yes effort. Value Them Both reported raising $2.45 million in 2022 from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in Kansas City, Kan., and $550,000 from the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, accounting for a majority of the group’s cash donations this year.
Where have all the board conservatives run off to? Buncha chickenshit pieces of shit.
Conservatives don't want voters to decide on the issue of abortion because they know most states will vote to keep it legal.
Conservative lawmakers know what is best for their constituents despite what their constituents say? Why those elitist bastards!

So happy Kansans stepped up but I disagree with this strategy.
What women do with their bodies is an inalienable right, not one that should be granted or taken away by anyone whether they are a majority or a minority.
What we need is Federal Constitutional Amendment that says such. Oh wait, we have one. WTF?
It's called the XIV Amendment....."No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of Citizens of the United States"......
Stick that up your asses, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Thomas and a special up yours to Alito!!!
“Not just the pro-choice movement but the pro-life movement was caught by surprise” by the Supreme Court, said Brandon Steele, a West Virginia delegate who pressed for an abortion ban without exceptions in a special session of the Legislature that ended this week with the Republican supermajority stymied. “Without having the talking points, without being told what to do, legislators had to start saying what they were actually going to do. You could see the confusion in the room.
