Clawson today:
Wolford will be the starter when he is 100%. Hinton will start until then (even if Wolford gets back to 70%-80%).
Staff is getting closer to finalizing the decision to redshirt Rocky Reid and Amari Henderson.
Ty Hayworth graded out as the top OL both of the past two weeks. Committed himself this year to doing what he needed to do on and off the field.
Ryan Anderson is playing really well in practice. He will play when he returns from suspension.
Duke Ejiofor has been cleared for full contact practice. Practice reps will be limited initially.
Thomas Brown has been saying his ankle has improved.
Depth chart changes:
Tyler Bell is now atop the depth chart at RB without the “OR”.
Tyree Harris is back at 2nd team WR-S after shifting over to WR-X when Jonathon Williams was injured. Williams is backing up Cortez Lewis again.
Zack Wary is now listed as a DE (he was previously a LB). Wary has done well as a third down pass rusher.
Indiana snap counts and observations:
First of all there were A LOT of plays run in the Indiana game. I assume that is because of all of the incomplete passes from both teams. Many players reached their season highs for snaps including Brad Watson with a whopping 102 snaps this week.
Running Back: Bell 66, Robinson 15, Colburn 10. Interesting note that Bell carried the ball on only 8 of the 66 plays he was in the game. I assume that he is our best RB at pass pro.
Slot/Flanker: Wade 57, Hines 38. The Chuck Wagon keeps rolling. First time this season he has had more snaps than Hines.
Defensive End: Very evenly distributed between Calhoun (54 snaps), Dunn (52 snaps), Stewart (53 snaps). Shaw continues to see fewer snaps than the top 3 (25 this week).
Defensive Tackle: Banks 60, Zeek Rodney 51, Harris 37, Yarbary 35
MIKE Linebacker: Lee 75 (missed snaps with an injury), Dawson 41
Rover: H. Williams 69, Kemp 56
Safety: Dancel 87 (left with injury), Glenn 63 (replaced Janvion), Janvion 51 (left with injury), Davis 13 (replaced Dancel)
Dionte Austin played CB for the first time since the Elon game. He briefly replaced Gaulden.
Third down specialists Zack Wary (37 snaps) and Josh Okonye (32 snaps) were active again after having lesser roles against run-heavy Army.
This was the second straight week that A’Lique Terry did not see any snaps.
59% of the defensive line snaps were taken by players in either their first or second year in the program.
