Favorite Thanksgiving dish

i've made this before, but also added in a diced granny smith apple. it's a game changer - makes it more of a relish than a sauce, though.

My mom makes a relish version that has raspberries in it too. I prefer the canned stuff, which everyone who has had the fresh can't understand. Guess I am just a thanksgiving purist.

Do you like the jelly kind or the canned that still has berries? something about sliding the gel version into a dish and slicing off a piece really bothers me. My mom makes homemade, but if it's going to be canned, I at least want the berries.

I don't have one favorite Thanksgiving food. It might be what someone else mentioned - the bite with a bit of everything: turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry. And then the leftover sandwich.

I love a spinach and artichoke dish my mother makes. Now whenever she makes a formal meal she always includes this for me. Mom is da bomb.

Of course it is hard to turn anything away with gravy on it.

Damn I can’t wait for that meal!

100% gel w/ ridges, sliced every 3rd ridge and pushed over in the dish like dominos

Sides are my favorite.

Smoked trout dip
Cheesy potatoes
Stuffed olives
Bacon wrapped dates

Pops always goes all out. Next day turkey soup also fuckin killer.

Probably not common, but Risotto with Collards is my favorite of our family's traditional thanksgiving:

1 lb fresh coarsely chopped collard greens
2 cups finely chopped onions
5 finely chopped carrots
2 c. uncooked arborio rice
2 c. grated Parmesan
5 finely chopped cloves garlic
4 cans (58 oz) chicken broth
salt/pepper to taste

Saute garlic, carrot, and onion in oil in a dutch oven for 3 minutes
Add rice, saute for 5 minutes (or until golden)
Add collard and saute for 1-2 minutes to wilt collards
stir in broth, cook over low heat stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed
stir in cheese, salt, and pepper

Second is the sweet potato casserole similar to Juice's

Why would someone ruin a perfectly good recipe with canned chicken broth? Damn. I'm sad now.

My sister makes this kickass Baked Horseradish Carrots dish for Thanksgiving. I know it sounds strange but it is delicious.

OMG I love corn pudding. This reminds me that since we'll be at my parents' house for Thanksgiving this year instead of my granddad's retirement home, so we can have some! Woot!
